Can you imagine life without Pinterest? We certainly couldn’t (follow us @FemaleNetwork)! Since the website’s launch in 2010, its online community has been multiplying like crazy. From 5,000 members, the number has ballooned to more than 17 million today, with users even inventing new words like pinners, pinteresting and pin-worthy!

And to think that, according to The Business Insider, Ben Silbermann, the CEO and visionary co-founder of the site, was originally going to be a doctor. Thank goodness he changed his mind, went into business, found himself working on boring spread sheets, worked at Google’s customer support where he analyzed more spread sheets, complained a lot, and eventually got called out by his girlfriend on his own bullshit (Ben’s words, not ours). Thus began his journey to creating one of the best interfaces ever.

Known as a tool for collecting and organizing the things you love, Pinterest has really become an integral part of people’s everyday life. Here are five reasons why we love Pinterest so much:

You don't need a lot of words to touch base with somebody--you just need pins.
