Another year will soon be upon us, and a whole new set of challenges and rewards will come with it. While we eagerly await the celebrations that mark the start of a new year, this is also the time when we take stock of what has happened in the year that's about to end and make mental notes of which mistakes never to do again.

Apart from preparing for 2011, it is customary to start drawing up lists of resolutions for the year ahead. Big or small changes, these agreements between you and the world represent the doing away with the old, and the welcoming of the new.
