In her first sit-down interview as Miss Universe 2015, Pia Wurtzbach told Good Morning America anchor Lara Spencer how she feels about winning one of the world's most prestigious pageants. "It’s surreal, I’m so happy I can’t wait to officially start my reign," she says.

When asked about how she felt when pageant host Steve Harvey announced that she was actually the real winner, Pia answered, “It was very exciting. Of course, I wanted to win. I joined Ms. Philippines three times, just to earn the sash that says Philippines, and of course I want to win Miss Universe.”

She also explained that the Miss Universe pageant is a big thing in the Philippines. “It’s been 42 years since we last won, so everyone has been anticipating to finally get the crown–and we finally did it.”

Just recently, Miss Colombia suggested that they be co-winners but reigning Miss Universe, Pia Wurtzbach said, “I think it would be a bit difficult for two girls to share a crown, but I have high hopes that this will give great opportunities for me and Miss Colombia and the rest of the contestants.

She added, “I understand how she feels. I know that she's a beautiful young lady–very talented. I think that she'll have a lot of other opportunities.
