Congratulations, Mary Jean!

The 26-year-old beauty is officially our representative to the Miss Universe 2014 pageant, as she was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2014 last night, March 30, at the Binibining Pilipinas 2014 pageant held at Araneta Coliseum.

PEP.ph reports that Mary Jean, who's an entrepreneur based in North Cotabato, has large shoes to fill, given that Pinay representatives in the Miss Universe pageant have been consistently ranking in the beauty contest's top five roster. Venus Raj was awarded the fourth runner-up spot back in 2010, Shamcey Supsup was third runner-up in 2011, Janine Tugonon finished as first runner-up in 2012, while Ariella Arida was third runner-up in 2013.

Joining Mary Jean's court are Binibining Pilipinas International 2014 Mary Anne Bianca Guidotti (who speaks three languages: Portuguese, English, and Filipino), Binibining Pilipinas Supranational 2014 Yvethe Marie Santiago (a 20-year-old public accountant from Albay), Binibining Pilipinas Tourism 2014 Parul Shah (a 25-year-old registered nurse from Pangasinan who also joined the pageant last year), and Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental 2014 Kris Tiffany Janson ( a 24-year-old finance analyst who's based in Cebu).

Laura Lehman landed in the first-runner up spot, while Hannah Ruth Sison finished as second-runner up.
