Typhoon Glenda (Rammasun) may have left the Philippine area of responsibility, but that doesn't mean we're 100 percent in the clear. A satellite screencap of the vicinity of the Philippines shows the possibility of continuous rainfall in the form of several low pressure areas, one of which may turn into a tropical cyclone. According to Inquirer.net, this low pressure area may be named Typhoon Henry. While we don't know just how this will affect us, it's better to be safe (and prepared) than sorry! Here, we list down what you need to do to be ready for the next typhoon!

1. Monitor the news.
Watch the news while you're having dinner or check out weather forecasts online. It pays to know when storms are supposed to make landfall and how strong the winds are going to be. Personally, we like visiting DOST_PAGASA and K's Weather and More for the latest weather updates online.

2. Keep rainy day gear at work.
We know you already keep slippers under your desk, so why not add a pair of waterproof footwear, a raincoat, and a sturdy umbrella as well? Don't have any rain-friendly pairs? Check out these 10 comfy slides for happy feet and these 20 shoes you can wear for a rainy day commute!

3. Charge your gadgets.
How many of you found yourself at a loss for what to do when Glenda took out the power in your neighborhood? Yeah, that's what we thought. With the possibility of more rain in the coming days, it's a good idea to charge your phones, your tablets, and your laptops while you still can. On that note, don't forget to charge your emergency lamps and flashlights as well. Going to the bathroom with all the lights out; well, that can be a nerve-racking experience!

4. Prepare entertainment.
We understand your need for an Internet connection, but if your neighborhood experiences another power outage, you'll have no choice but to give it up for a few hours. Having a backup plan, therefore, is very important, especially if you have kids in the house. Got any board games at home? Dig them up now, so you won't have to worry about rummaging through your storage closet in the dark. You can also download movies or episodes of your favorite series to your laptop to watch later or gather around in a circle to take turns telling the funniest or the scariest stories you can think of.

5. Keep the pantry well-stocked.
We're not saying you should start hoarding your favorite de lata and instant noodles, but it really sucks to be stuck at home because of a storm only to find out that there's nothing to eat. Choose items that won't spoil easily; and if you're going the de lata route, make sure you have a can opener in hand, and that you won't need a microwave or an electric gas stove to cook it.
