One such incident saw local poachers destroying "more than 21,000 pieces of black coral and [killing] 161 endangered turtles and other marine life," Inquirer.net reports. Today, June 8, is Blog Action Day. Help spread the word about this important issue by registering your website or blog, displaying the official campaign badge, and encouraging others to do the same by informing others about the event through social media channels like Facebook and Twitter.
Save the Philippine Seas also suggests sharing mini-posters, making photo essays about your top 5 beaches, and posting about why you want your kids and grandchildren to experience the greatness of coral reefs as some of the ways in which you can help blog about the campaign.
