After being served a warrant of arrest on Friday, November 18, for a case on electoral sabotage, former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo remains confined at the St. Luke's Medical Center in Taguig City because of her bone ailment, reports Interaksyon.com. Following the ruling of the Supreme Court that she was allowed to leave the country, Rep. Arroyo was supposed to leave for Singapore last week to have her condition treated, but the arrest prevented her from doing so.

Meanwhile, Atty. Raul Lambino of the Arroyo legal counsel, said their petition to allow Arroyo to remain confined under "hospital arrest" was approved by the Pasay City Regional Trial Court on the morning of November 21.

Philstar.com reports that Arroyo was scheduled to have her mug shot and fingerprints taken early on November 20, but the police moved it to the afternoon in consideration of her condition.

"We have been forcing her [Mrs. Arroyo] to eat because she has developed diarrhea, and doctors are already talking about possibly some form of anorexia. She’s depressed, and her blood pressure remains high," former first gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo told Philstar.com.
