It’s May 13, FNites! Before you troop over to your respective precincts, make sure you have everything you need. Below is a check list of FN’s voting survival kit!
1. A fan
Even if it rains today, the weather will still be unbearable. Do yourself a favor, and bring a fan with you to the precinct. Yes, it might make your bag a little bulkier than you like, but you'll realize that the added weight is well worth it when everyone else around you starts sweating buckets.
2. Hand sanitizer
Germs spread fast. To lower your risk of picking anything up from the precinct, use a hand sanitizer after you've fulfilled your voting obligations. Besides, it can help keep the indelible ink from accidentally staining your favorite blouse.
3. Ballot cheat sheet
Don't forget to bring your list of candidates when you actually leave the house to vote. This way, you won't feel too pressed for time at the precinct.
4. A book or magazine
You can't use your mobile phone at the precinct, so you might as well use your time wisely. Catch up on some light reading. Bringing a book or a magazine with you is also the perfect cover up in case you abhor small talk.
5. ID
The Board of Inspectors won’t always ask for your ID, but it’s better to bring one with you anyway. It will definitely help speed things up.
6. A chocolate bar
You need concentration if you want to follow the procedure to the letter. For example, you can't overvote when it comes to the ballot, and you can’t mess up the way you fill the ovals. To make sure your mind is focused on the task at hand, try eating chocolate. According to WebMD, chocolate contains vitamin E, which may help boost your concentration.
