The teenage daughter of outgoing Tacloban City Mayor Alfred Romualdez has apologized for her cuss-filled tweet against vice presidential frontrunner Leni Robredo and her supporters.

In a post on her Twitter account on Wednesday, 16-year-old Sofia Romualdez admitted to her error saying that she got carried away, the Inquirer reported.

“I’m human and I make mistakes too, I’m sorry if I offended anyone,” she said.

Sofia’s mother, Tacloban City Mayor-elect Cristina Gonzales-Romualdez has also apologized in behalf of her daughter.

“As a mother and most especially a Christian, I do not approve such words… Sofia is 16 so I believe she didn’t realize what she was doing… Sofia already apologized so I hope we all forgive and love her she is still very young,” she said.



Sofia posted the cuss-filled tweet after Robredo overtook Bongbong Marcos Jr. in the vice presidential race. The Romualdez and Marcos families are close relatives and political allies.

Currently, Robredo is leading the tight vice presidential race with 13,995122 votes while Marcos is close by with 13,775,801 votes as of 9:45 a.m. of Friday.
