A man killed at least seven people and left several others wounded when he went on a shooting spree in Kawit, Cavite on January 4.

Senior Superintendent Alexander Rafael, said that the gunman, identified as Ronald Bae, went from house to house around his neighborhood, killing targets off with a .45 caliber pistol, according to a report from Interaksyon.com.

GMA News Online reports that among Bae’s victims were his own godchildren, as well as two kids, aged three and six, who were declared dead on arrival at the Divine Grace Hospital.

The shootout only ended when Bae was shot dead, although the person who fired at him is still unknown.

Several .45 caliber pistol magazines and drug paraphernalia were also found in Bae’s home.

Police officer Jaime Rollon said that it would have been easy for Bae to obtain a gun, and that there are a number of locals who possess firearms.

"There are a lot of people with guns here. There are civilians with guns, even without official permits to carry. They can find a way," he was quoted by Interaksyon.com as saying.
