As far as specialty stores go, Scribe Writing Essentials is one-of-a-kind. How so? Well, unlike others of its caliber, the brand actually caters to a wide range of customers. From 13-year-olds who want to start journaling, 25-year-olds who are looking for a good professional pen, six-year-olds who want to add a new stationary to their collection, or 50-year-olds who want to commemorate a special occasion, it’s clear that Scribe has its bases covered. That and the brand inspires loyalty like no other.

And to think that all this started way back in 2002 when Marian Yu-Ong and her sister-in-law, who were selling specialty items in Christmas bazaars, discovered a strong demand for their products. From there, they went into distribution, supplying bookstores and specialty stores, before eventually opening a one-stop gift and paper specialty store in 2009.

“I always believed that you should do what you love,” says Marian. “That is why it was only fitting that I made a business out of specialty reading and writing products which I’ve loved ever since I was a kid.”

Scribe has five branches located in the following malls: Eastwood Mall, SM Aura Premier, SM Megamall Fashion Hall, Glorietta 5, and the new flagship store at the Shangri-La Plaza Mall, East Wing.
