This isn't the first time though that a product caused massive buzz online due to having a red hue. Let's take a look at the other red products that were popular during launch.
1. iPod touch
Apple has long been partnering with (PRODUCT)RED™ and the two brands have produced an assortment of limited edition items in red color like gadget cases, covers and more.
One of their most popular products though is the red iPod touch which was rolled out for its 5th generation. Apple is currently selling the iPod touch 6th gen in special red editions.
In 2015, Sony launched a limited edition PlayStation 4 console in time for the release of the much-anticipated Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain game.
The 500GB unit came in a deep red color and a black matte finish with gold trimmings complete with the emblem of private military organization Diamond Dogs.
Here's another (PRODUCT)RED™ collaboration but this time it's for the Beats by Dr. Dre Solo headphones. Just like their other collaborations, part of the earnings went to the (RED) Global Fund.
4. The MU-X
The popular midsize SUV from Isuzu just got a makeover with the MU-X Black Series which is basically a 3.0-liter LS-A 4x2 AT variant of the original model.
According to Top Gear Philippines, the MU-X Black Series which has a sharper overall look is available in either Cosmic Black or Garnet Red models and is priced at P1.568 million.
5. Samsung S6 Edge
This was released back in 2015 as part of a collaboration with Samsung and Marvel to promote the Avengers: Age of Ultron film that came out that year.
This smartphone which was produced in a limited quantity of 1,000 units comes in a metallic red finish reminiscent of Iron Man's armor. It also has a customized user interface for Avengers fans.
