Women have long been victims of inequality, discrimination, and abuse. In an effort to end these, a call for women to empower themselves has become widespread. This empowerment begins with the knowledge of our rights, as ignorance breeds a silent acceptance of the abuse. However, knowledge per se does not suffice. Women must also have a strong sense of entitlement to their rights. And when denied of their rights, they need courage to stand up for what they are entitled to.
