We’ve all gone through times when we’d find ourselves pining really hard for some cake—an easy craving to cure as pastry shops are so common in the Philippines. But since most cakes are made with sharing in mind, buying a whole box just for yourself might understandably seem a tad too sinful (and expensive).

They say amazing things tend to come in small packages, and this is where the cupcake comes in: it has all the goodness of a cake (served in bite-sized pieces), and best of all, these babies can easily be dressed up, even by little kids. If you’re looking for a fun way to spend a lazy afternoon in, whip up a batch of your favorite cupcakes, and have a blast experimenting with different decorations with your children! Slice’s pastry head Michiko Vivo shows us six designs you and your tot can test out.
