This easy buffalo chicken wings recipe makes for a sumptuous appetizer or main dish.  These fiery, tasty wings are best eaten with lots of rice or a cold drink on the side.

Serves 4

Preparation Time 15 minutes

Cooking Time 15 minutes


¾ cup cornstarch 
½ kilo chicken wings
salt and freshly ground pepper 
5 cups vegetable oil, for frying 
1/3 cup butter, melted 
½ cup hot pepper sauce
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper 


Season wings with salt and pepper. Set aside.

Place cornstarch in a large bowl. Dredge wings in cornstarch, shaking off excess, then carefully lower wings into preheated oil. Fry, turning occasionally, until chicken is cooked through and crust is golden brown and very crisp, around 10–12 minutes.

In a separate small sauce pan, heat the hot pepper sauce. Season with cayenne peppper. Set aside.

Transfer wings in a big bowl and toss with melted butter, then toss again with the hot pepper sauce mixture. Serve immediately.
