You’ve heard of global warming. You’ve seen An Inconvenient Truth. Yet living green still seems like a lofty ideal to some. "Manila generates more than 5,000 tons of solid waste per day—almost 75 percent of which comes from the households,” says the Economy and Environment Program for Southeast Asia. Most of the waste ends up in landfills—or worse, in empty lots and streets.
