1. Adobo
Adobo is a seemingly easy dish—you just throw everything together and let it simmer. But kitchen newbies know that it’s easy to get adobo wrong, too. Liempo is one of the easiest and fool-proof dishes you can make:  you can opt to fry it or cook it over a grill. Make sure you find a marinade for your liempo that excites you and you’re pretty much set with getting great pork belly every single time.

5. Fried Chicken
Who doesn’t love fried chicken, right? It’s a reliable comfort food, makes for an easy weeknight dish, and its crispy skin and moist, juicy meat is easy to love. Experiment with the breading and a marinade you love and then deep-fry your way to crispy, juicy perfection.

6. Aglio Oglio
Love pasta?  Aglio olio (spaghetti with garlic) is one of the most basic pasta dishes you can whip up plus you will always have pasta, garlic, and olive oil in your pantry, too. If cooked just right, this plate of spaghetti tossed with browned minced garlic is a light dinner option you’ll want to have over and over again.

7. Italian-style Carbonara
Carbonara is always a crowd-pleaser because this bacon-pasta-cheese plate is undeniably good. Why not take it a step further, impress family and friends and learn how to make  authentic  carbonara sans the sauce? All you need are fresh eggs, Parmesan cheese, al dente noodles, and a lot of practice. Yum!

8. Kare-Kare
Everyone needs to know how to cook a dish that goes beyond pan-frying and this Pinoy dish can satisfy the biggest of appetites. When paired with steamed rice and bagoong, this Pinoy stew is the perfect for pigging out.

9. Pancakes
Fluffy pancakes are worth getting up early for! It’s nice to perfect making a stack of fluffy pancakes made with a store-bought mix but how about challenging yourself to make a batch from scratch? All it takes is a little practice and you’ll be on your way to pancake perfection.

10. Fried Rice
Everyone has leftover fried rice and the best way to makeover leftovers is to turn them into a delicious bowl of fried rice. Play with veggies, scrambled eggs, herbs and spices and the meat of your choice—you can never go wrong with fried rice.
