Nowadays, it’s easier to just go out for a meal whenever you feel a craving coming on, or simply make use of all the delivery options available in the city. Of course, that’s not always the most economical thing to do, and if you're trying to cut back on your expenses, it’s much cheaper for you to make your meals at home. Cooking your own meals not only means saving, but it also means you know exactly what goes into every dish.
So if you’re going to be cooking at home, you have to keep your kitchen and pantry well stocked, starting with the absolute essentials. Here’s a quick list of the basic things every pantry has to have; take note of these if you’re about to move into your own place for the first time and need to fill up your kitchen. Chances are, you already have these items in stock, since they’re the all-important go-tos every time there’s cooking to be done or if you’re just feeling a little peckish. It’s also a good idea to keep them around in case something happens and you're not able to go out to get fresh food. Remember to stock up an adequate amount of these pantry basics so you won’t have to make a lot of trips to the supermarket.
