There are days when nothing seems to go your way. Don’t worry – it happens to the best of us, but instead of moping, try these quick hacks that can make you feel super in seconds (if you let them):

1. Ice cream
Or anything sweet, for that matter. Susan Bowerman, RD, of the UCLA’s Center for Human Nutrition explains to Health that these yummy treats can give you a lift due to their association with good memories. “These kinds of cravings come from long-established patters, like memories from when we were kids and were soothed with cookies or rewarded for doing well with ice cream.” Of course, you wouldn’t want to go overboard since sugar can also be addicting.

TRY: Jollibee’s new Rocky Road Overload Sundae, generously drizzled with chocolate fudge, mini marshmallows, and crushed peanuts.

2. Good music
It’s been scientifically proven that your favorite tunes can make you feel better, so put on your favorite cans and bop your head to the beat!

TRY: The JBL Everest 300BT comes with Bluetooth connectivity to give you clear surround music without the hassle of wires. Available in-store and at select retailers nationwide for Php 7,499.

3. Something crafty
Whether you’re into journaling, calligraphy, or you just love looking at nice handmade things, looking at crafts and artwork can definitely make you smile even just a little. Heck, maybe you can binge shop a bit and get yourself some nice stationery and stickers, just like what you did when you were a kid.

TRY: Stick ‘Em Up is published by Summit Books, and is available in all leading bookstores and department stores nationwide for P250.

4. New clothes
If you have extra cash, why not treat yourself to a new outfit? The new look will do you good, plus getting stylish basics can level up your wardrobe.

TRY: Check out Lalu, Iora’s newest casual line in the following branches: SM Megamall, Glorietta, Trioma, SM Cebu, and Ayala Center Cebu

5. Time with your furbabies
Take your dog for a walk, settle in with your cat at home, or if you need emergency TLC, visit one of the many cat and dog cafes in the metro. You can also opt to go further by volunteering in local animal shelters or even adopting a rescue pet! Animals have been known to help relieve gloominess and even depression, so if you’re willing to take on the responsibility, you’ll be rewarded with love and good vibes daily!

Dia from Buendia! Dia is our oldest kitten. She's quiet most of the time, but can be playful with some company. She's sweet and 'malambing', definitely a great addition to your home. Dia will be at our next adoption event at the CARA Clinic on September 25 (Sunday) from 9:00-1:00 pm. We have kittens ranging from 1-6 months old that need a family to love them as their own. :) Our clinic is located at 175 Lopez-Rizal corner Samat street, Mandaluyong. Some of our adoptable dogs and adult cats will also be at the clinic. Interested adopters will also receive giveaways from our partner sponsors, so see you all there!
