The 2016 Pantone Colors of the Year left everyone in awe. Serenity and Rose Quartz became the trendiest colors in the fashion and beauty industry with rose gold-everything leading the pack. If anything, the soft hues made everyone fall in love with pastel (remember these highlighters?).
Which is why when Pantone revealed the 2017 Color of the Year, we were slightly disappointed. Okay, very disappointed. You see, from 2015's sophisticated Marsala to 2016's lovely pale blue and pink, we didn't expect we would get a color so...tricky for 2017. Everyone,Âmeet the 2017 Color of the Year: Greenery.
It's supposed to mean all the good things, though. Pantone claims it symbolizes new beginnings. "Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn amid a tumultuous social and political environment. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another, and a larger purpose," says Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute.
