Does Bizu accept plated service for 100-120 pax only?

Bizu has been my 1st choice kaso sa sobrang dami ng corkages sa shortlisted venue namin, magkukulang kami sa budget.

Anyone who knows if they will be attending any bridal fairs soon? Thanks!

Following This thread has been so useful for someone interested in getting Bizu. Thanks for all the food reviews.

Im getting Bizu catering for an upcoming birthday event and am so excited to do the foodtasting. It's 10k fee na pala ngayon. Sabagay i think after the foodtasting impossible na to like someone else more I had booked KbyC for my wedding simply to cut cost but Bizu is actually my top caterer ever since. Agree its better than hotel food!

Sis when is your foodtasting? I'm getting Bizu na for my wedding this November but I'm not sure what dishes to try and I'm hoping you can recommend stuff to try. Will be getting their plated package. My dad is kinda choosy with food so I got Bizu na.

^Hi sis its scheduled this month end palang. Medyo iffy nga lang kami if ituloy pa kasi---
1. No prawns on my menu bec they have to be cooked onsite daw and my venue wont allow that
2. Even without seabass and prawns (salmon, halibut and chicken lang as mains)  200php cheaper lang per head si Bizu vs. KbyC menu namin which has all three (seabass, salmon, prawns). This is despite having to pay extra P1300/head for upgrading all the mains. Cheaper talaga si KbyC by a lot.
3. We did FT with KbyC na and all the mains rocked esp the seabass.

So torn.. will think abt Bizu for another 2 weeks.

^Yikes...cheaper nga talaga K by C. But the reason why Im getting Bizu is because of the rave reviews they've been getting and K by C doesnt do plated meals in our venue (Narra Hill). Most of my guests are of the tito/tita crowd and I don't like the lunch line feel of a buffet. So Bizu talaga bagsak ko.
Anyway will probably do FT by March or April. Hope my folks like the food. Balitaan ko kayo how it goes.

True sis i also dont like buffet for a wedding esp since naka formal at heels lahat ng tao tapos papatayuin at papapilahin. I also did plated for my wedding. Sadly both KbyC and Bizu cant do plated lang dito sa birthday venue namin now kaya no choice but buffet maliit pantry. Itotodo sarapan nalang namin yung menu pambawi.

Among the caterers we had a food tasting with (for buffet-style), Bizu really stood out, in terms of taste and presentation. The dessert food tasting part is heaven!

Although some main dish items we chose for the food tasting were too salty for our tastes.   

Bizu charges P5k for each food tasting after the first one, which is non-deductible from the package.

For the menu items, AFAIK, yes, BIzu is the only one which charges a fee (if you don't get them). The dessert only food tasting is free.

Bizu was our caterer of choice for our wedding 8 years ago.  We were so happy with the service of Audrey Tanco and her team! Always very professional, always willing to help and best of all hindi sila ma-kwenta, they will try to give you the best they can ng walang hinihingi na extra bayad as much as they can. Super generous and bait!

Yes they charge for the food tasting but its because they don't scrimp on it - its not like the others na tasting portion lang talaga. With Bizu's food tasting you get a meal - as in legit meal.

Our guests were all raving about the food even months after the wedding, they all loved what we served from the cocktails all the way to the desserts and the wedding cake. In fact a couple of my officemates and acquaintances who attended our wedding ended up getting Bizu as eithet their caterer or dessert buffet supplier because they were super impressed with the food at our reception. We got the sit down menu/package and yes pricey but super worth it!

If you have the budget to get Bizu, please get them! You will not regret it AT ALL! In fact we're getting Bizu again for our 10th yr anniversary lunch celebration. We're planning to ask them to recreate our reception food for our guests

I heard naman the upgraded menu of K by C is great as well. Im hoping bizu delivers talaga in terms of taste kasi my dad is really particular about food. Probably might get a a food station for our cocktails as well. Have you guys tried any of the food stations? Nakukulangan ako sa caramel popcorn or lavosh crackers sa package nila.

^I'm thinking of burger sliders from Bizu and have wine served during cocktail hour. They sent me a file kasi ng mga stations na available and nakita ko..it looks masarap. Hehe if there's one thing we'll be splurging on, its the food. Hungry guests are irate guests so busugin na namin  😁 I can send the file ng mga stations if you havent received it yet from them (wala lang price though).

^Hi sis, we just finished our Bizu FT. Sadly, the session really ruined my impression of them.

I had always thought very highly of them based on a previous wedding i've attended (where i loved the steak) and because of reviews but because i requested a seafood-centered menu for my event, walang steak nung FT and we were FAR from impressed by the seafood mains.
To add insult to injury, they invited 4 pax for the FT that we had to pay 5k for and when the plates came out the servings were like good for 1-2 lang. Super konti! They didn't serve the FT in actual portion sizes (like KbyC does) and so it was even harder for us to judge if we were ok with it kasi we can't estimate if the guests would be full without knowing the actual portions. It was so sad, really, especially since my family members knew we had to pay 5k to have that session. Here are some specifics:

Salads - Served 2 kinds, both were okay although not outstanding. Liked KbyC's more
Pasta - Served 2 kinds, one was very bland and the other was way too strong!
Fish - Served 4 kinds, one was inedible (too sour), one was bland and weird-tasting, one was just okay and one was yummy. Sad thing is puro white fish and salmon lang yung fish and it wasn't even yummy.
Chicken - Served 2 kinds. This really puzzled us. Both were waaaay too salty! As in grabe. We couldnt help but comment even with the AE there, that there mustve been something wrong with the salt measurement. How do you ruin chicken!?
Desserts - Served 7 kinds. This was the only thing we were happy with, and we were able to choose agad.
Peach Iced Tea - Bland, but at least i was okay with that
Welcome Drink - Okay with me as well, but it really just tasted like liquid jellyace.
Other cons: 5k foodtasting fee (other caterers are free), Very small FT serving sizes (instead of actual portions), they have a tendency to drench everything in heavy sauce that isn't always yummy (even fish and chicken, so useless to choose a very nice expensive fish like seabass), very hot office, and total cost per head of the menu that we weren't happy with was 2,200 (same as KbyC's which already had an appetizer, seabass and prawns for mains and was a lot lot yummier)

Anyway, im so heartbroken because KbyC is fullybooked on my date and as much as i wanted to get them i know its impossible now. Im currently scouting for other caterers (Cibo next on my list) but if all else fails, we will also request to FT yung plated packages of Bizu because i heard they do so much better on those, plus the AE confirmed bigger portion sizes.

I also observed during our food tasting that the Chicken Mains we tasted (Baked Chicken Panchetta with Caramelized Leeks and Chicken Fricasse) were too salty. Some other mains were only a bit salty but the chicken ones were noticeably salty.

I remember asking the AE if may pinagdadaanan ba yung nagluto ng food that day, kasi baka umiiyak siya habang niluluto yung chicken, ala Shaolin Soccer.

The dessert portion made up for the chicken mains.

Our food tasting had ample portions of food. We were a group of 6 (3 males and 3 females) and we had food and desserts wrapped after. There was a food tasting right before ours.

^It was also Chicken Fricasee that we had plus the one with orange sauce supposedly in it? No orange taste at all because all we tasted was saltiness. Sad that you had the same feedback, it only means it wasn't a mistake, it's how they really formulate it to be.

I wish i could say the desserts would make up for the flaws... but in my case I don't even have mains yet that we're happy with.

Good that you also had ample portions. Just so puzzled how it happened to us na sobrang kulang, but the AE herself advised that if we do Plated FT, they will do the actual portion sizes. That made me a feel a bit better, and i might consider.

I scheduled another food tasting with Bizu to see if there will be improvements based from our comments in the initial food tasting. We chose other chicken dishes for the second food tasting. If we're still not happy with the chicken, we'll ask Bizu to scrap the chicken dish altogether and replace it with another pasta or seafood dish. Better to remove a main dish you're not happy with than serve it to your guests 'para lang may chicken' in the menu.

^Hubby and i decided to scrap the entire buffet package altogether. I should have listened when a veteran supplier advised me that Bizu is really much better with plated packages. So we're going with that for the 2nd FT. Completely different food, and they have seabass in the options!

Naubusan na kami ng options for seafood mains. We can eliminate chicken but not the seafood, i actually asked them for a custom menu para 2-3 yung seafood ko. But since we weren't satisfied at all, we'll check the seafood mains from their Plated packages and hope they are much better.

Had our second food tasting with Bizu. The AEs included newer menu items in the tasting. The chicken dishes improved. Other items were still delicious, specially the desserts. Bizu was also kind enough to prepare signature cocktails (we gave them the recipe and ingredients); gave the food tasting a more relaxed atmosphere.

In the end though, we decided to convert the buffet to plated meals. Haha.
