meron akong friend na nagtuturo ng Old style ng Aikido, Yoshinkan Aikido. yung founder neto is the top student ni Morihei. and my friend studied directly under him for so many years. My friend finished their intensive training program, para kang nag Navy Seals dito dahil iba to sa mainstream classes nila and maraming hindi nakakatapos. i will PM you his contact details. This friend of mine is also very good in Arnis/Escrima.

Manila lang siya. It's best that you email him, as i've been out of the Philippines and the martial arts arena for years.

what exactly is her art? there are many teachers to the military. The most popular one making this claim Pekiti Tirsia.

but mahirap mag claim as Philippine Military is very serious about secrecy and the above mentioned group i heard the above group has lost some favor already...

Im into competitive Arts before, started when I became a College TKD Varsity, Earned colored Belts and mixed it with other Arts like Arnis, Boxing and BJJ.  Now since I retired from Competitive action, just maintaining with Muay Thai, so not to forget how to box and Kick.  My friends are at UP for the Arnis Practice every Sunday.

I am practicing Krav Maga though tinigil ko muna kasi preggs ako  ;D But this is worth. Since huli na when I knew I was preggy mga 6th weeks na nung naconfirm ko eh di mga 2nd to 4th week pregnancy ako nakapag krav maga na intense ang pagworkout.  :D Grabe wala akong kamalay malay I am bringing a baby already when I did this. Na enjoy ko naman. Sayang lang ang additional 12 sessions ko. Hopefully after ko manganak magkaroon pa ng promo and I will repeat talaga.

worth it ito. Hindi ito martial arts but just self defense in real life situation just for you to survive.

maganda samahan ang martial arts with pistol/shotgun/rifle.

I don't have any idea kung anong martial art ang meron nun pero at least dito sa Krav Maga kapag umabot ka na sa higher level meron nito. And as I've mentioned hindi martial arts ang krav maga kasi wala talagang art run. It is a practical action kung anong gagawin mo kapag may nang holdap, tutukan ka ng knife, ma headbat ka, icorner ka, pag may magtangkang manapak sayo sa argument ano gagawin mo.

i've taken Krav Maga before its just alright. the principles behind it are found in other arts. it was after all synthesized by a martial artist.

I've heard dodgy things about Krav Maga in the Philippines. I will not comment further on this.

as for learning how to shoot, you'd have learn this somewhere else.

iba ang real world. real world opponents are battle proven. hard bodied strong willed and intelligent  individuals.

pag maraming may kaya sa school or commercialized na, medyo i avoid na. gusto ko yung training na first day pa lang mahihirapan ka na talaga. because the real techniques, techniques used in the streets, wars, in mindanao, by our grand fathers and so on, require serious strength and conditioning and are very brutal.

encountering a properly schooled arnisador for example, who punches bags filled with gravel and sand; who can swing heavy lead pipes with lightning speed, is scary. this i learned when i left the comforts of my up bringing and started training with the masses- drivers, current/ex military/police SF, security guards, low profile arnis teachers/masters...

training with low profile masters i opine is better. why? because the techniques are pure. they're simple. yung mga sumisikat na arts, nagiimebento na lang yung master para may maibenta at ma retain ang students.

simple lang ang real techniques kasi noong araw, walang gaanong time to train. you just have to keep on training and keep on bring your physical condition to a higher level. para should something happen, kahit hilo ka na at disoriented, lalabas ang training.

then shooting takes it to a whole new level. they had me shoot while running, shooting prone & supine. close up shooting, malfunction drills, shooting with one hand, then with the less dominant hand (with racking and malfunction drills as well..), shooting in a crowd, shooting in pairs.. etc..
sa una masaya, pero pag sumakit na kamay mo sa kakaulit ng kaka kasa, bunot, etc...hindi biro na.

I plan to take gun training din in the future. Right now, I'm enjoying Filipino Martial Arts and would like to focus on it. Although, I would have to try and train with the masses as you mentioned. I feel it's more hardcore and I won't be babied, not that I am now. There are a lot of FMA systems being taught in Luneta. I'd just have to choose carefully and dapat pasok sa sched.
