Thanks hunny. Nakakatuwa nga mga guard nila. That's what I wanted, nakikilala nila ang mga student at medyo strict talaga sila. The registrar said there's father and daughter activity, ano kaya ginagawa nila? Funny kasi my husband, nakakahiya man pero he's not showie pagdating sa pagka-religious, he said ba naman baka daw padasalin sya ng rosary di nya kabisado kawawa naman daw daughter namin kasi baka daw mapahiya.

^in k2, they had a father-daughter field trip at La Mesa Dam. Grade 1, an activity done in school. I think they made kites and did kite flying. Wala pa namang religious themed activity. If magkataon, I think my husband will fare worse than yours since he's not Catholic.  With Moms, they had a mother-daughter recollection last year.

gemini78, i am working full time now. My husband only attends programs and PTCs pero hindi sa parent involvement week activities like participating sa class activities, field trips, etc. Ako naman I send her and pick her up from school and attend all activities. Baka sa June dko na magawa magsundo hatid kasi dalawa na sila and I will be very busy sa little boy namin. Kaya OK na AM class nakuha nya sa slot para her dad can drop her then my brother can pick her up. Pero excited na si hubby sa mga school activities. He is more keen on sending our daughter to Poveda kahit nung kakaalam pa lang namin ng gender nya at dpa pinapanganak 

hunny_ally: Thanks sa tips re pagsundo and hatid. Kasi ang worry ko kung kelangan pa samahan ni Yaya sa school at antayin or OK lang na kasama lang si Yaya sa pagsundo. My daughter will be 5yo this June and an incoming K2.

my yaya's complaint before is walang ginagawa in school. the yayas wont get to see the kids once they get inside the classroom. during dismissal time na. but they have some kasambahay programs for yayas from time to time like recollections and seminars

Hunny, meron ba sila subject in the future ng behavioral like manners etc.? I don't know exactly how they call it.

Sa uniforms naman nila, do they have schedule when they should wear pajama style at may preferred color ba sila everyday? Tama ba pagkaintindi ko na dapat kukuha ng blue uniform for the religious activity nila in school?

^like GMRC (Good Manners and Right Conduct) in other schools? As far as I know, wala silang specific class/subject for it. But of course the teachers do teach them those. Until grade 1, the grading system is more on the assessment side...like if whether the kid achieved a particular skill (academic or life/soft skill) or if it hasnt been observed or it is emerging. Examples of life/soft skills are ability to share things, knowing how to take turns, packing away things, etc. I even remember one time when they sent a memo reminding parents to let their kids carry their own bags! I think the school noticed that parents/yayas would carry the kids' bags all the way to the gate. Eh at that time all they bring are their memo notebooks and baon. I guess thats a way for them to learn how to be independent.

re uniform, when my daughter was k2, they were allowed to wear any color and type (scrubs or dress) unless specified that they should wear the blue one. my daughter then had blue, yellow and pink. ayaw niya ng green.

We were late in submitting our application for Pre K (didn't know it starts/ends early for next school year) and thus we are very far in the application queue.

Would you girls know what are the chances of getting our daughter in for Pre-K? Also, any tips for the assessment? TIA

Thanks again hunny! I'm not sure if that's GMRC. Meron daw kasi particular subject sa Southville Int'l. School for that. I assume na lang na meron din.
Natawa ako sa sarili ko, scrubs nga pala tawag doon. My niece kasi call it pajama style daw. i really hope my daughter will learn how to pack away her things kasi yan ang problem ko pagdating sa bahay she always call her yaya when she's done playing pero sabi naman sa school masunurin naman daw. Yung sa IW nila, they need to finish it in school naman and they're not allowed to bring it home? And they only need bags ba only for their baon? What about the books? Do they leave it in school?

^ same question din about the bags. Do they need to bring din extra clothes? At my daughter's school kasi now they have a bag with extra clothes plus a small lunch bag for baon.

And for shoes. Any black shoes naman are ok? Or do they have to be a particular style/type?

my daughter then had a lunchbag + a small backpack that contains her memo notebook and a change of clothes. I cant remember anymore if they were asked to bring extra clothes for storage in school at the start of academic year.

For kinder they dont have books but only a ring-bound compilation of worksheets. I cant remember her bringing it home. Wala din naman silang assignment/homework. Tip: after I bought the lone "book", I had it photocopied so I can ask my daughter to answer the worksheets at home as practice.

IWs are done in school. At my daughter's level, they are required to finished them at the specified period of time. If not, the teacher would no longer allow you to extend. If your daughter missed some school days, the teacher might request your daughter to stay after school to do them.

for black shoes, she used Maryjanes type. for PE, required that it should be predominantly white, no lights and definitely not the wheelies type.

i called poveda last friday and talked to Ms. Charmaine aaking if there's still open house for incoming kinder 2, sad to say close na daw pero pwede naman daw pumunta on a saturday kailangan lang tumawag muna before pumunta kasi minsan daw may activity ang staff pag weekend. Natanong ko rin if they have summer class, meron naman daw pero para sa mga enrolled students lang. My questions is what are those summer classes? I am thinking kasi whats the summer activity of my daughter, dami nya gusto, she wants singing and ballet daw. We want naman sports sana para exercise at the same time kasi medyo mataba sya. Thanks again!

^different sports like swimming, soccer, gymnastics, tennis, ballet (with Halili-Cruz), fencing and non-sports activities like arts, music, and enrichment classes for reading and filipino. I enrolled my daughter last summer for filipino. Most of these activities are offered naman throughout the school year.

Oh wow! They have ballet pala and music naman, is it better if i enroll my daughter there na lang in poveda than any other school for summer?

^oh im not sure. try inquiring with the school if they will allow it (technically your daughter naman is enrolled). if they will allow it, it will be a good idea at least your daughter will get familiar with the school. with swimming, we asked coach pat before if we can enroll my son so he can take lessons at the same time as his ate. pumayag naman siya.

My sister went to poveda this morning to buy uniforms. Her twins will also be k1 this june like my daughter.

Out of stock na daw pink uniforms na pajama style.

Car stickers are P350 each.

I will go tomorrow morning pa. Sana may matira pang yellow uniforms! My daughter doesnt like green at all!

^try asking if they'll have more stocks. I think hindi pa enrollment for old preschool students plus there is still late enrollment until next (next) week. If not, I think they sell the cloth for the uniforms by the yard. Hassle lang magpagawa but at least your daughter will get the color she likes.

^ thanks, sis. They accept orders naman pala so i placed an order for the pink pants set. It will be ready end of the month daw but call ahead to confirm.

Hi! Went there yesterday also. Wala pala nag-aassist doon na staff. Parang nagtatanungan mga moms kung ano talaga kailangan na uniforms.
Wala pa sila binigay na workbooks sa pasukan pa daw. There's orientation for new parent, for kinder 2 the schedule is june 10. Can I bring my daughter kaya?

^any style/color is ok but make sure have at least one set of blue for religious activities. well at least that's what we were told before when my daughter was in preschool. if dress, you can let your daughter wear white leggings/stockings under to prevent mosquito bites. Re orientation, I brought my daughter before but it's quite long so she may get bored. If you really want to bring her along, I suggest bringing a yaya with you so she can go around outside.

and i think they have PE twice a week. I remember getting 2 sets for my daughter before.
