Before I got married, I never allow myself to be controlled by anybody. Pero now with my hubby, ang hirap for me to keep my mouth shut. Nung start ng relationship namin, lumalaban talaga ako, pero dahil nasasaktan lang ako pag sumasagot ako, I learned to shut up. Sa totoo lang, masakit sakin to shut up kasi minsan I feel napaka one sided. Pero para di nalang lumala yun situation at magka black eye, I just say sorry kagad and shut up. Minsan pakiramdam ko wala ako karapatan to speak my own mind. and when I do, super pahapyaw lang. My husband is very kind to me, pero pag dating sa arguments he turns into something so different. is it ok for my relationship to be like this? para lang maging smooth ang samahan namin I just have to keep quiet all the time? hays help?

No pretensions, then we meet halfway whatever that needs to be decided.

i guess kelangan talaga that wife submits to his husband...biologically and biblically. hehe
if husband can't, it's the role of the wife to help him be. but don't get me wrong, hindi ko naman sinabi na wala na tayo[wives] say, you can talk about it and raise your point, eventually magkakaintindihan naman kayo.

And on the later part of our exchange of words, ang gusto niya pala mangyari, since matapang ako, magpailalim ako sa knya.
Oo! Mahirap. Aminin natin yan lahat. Pero sabi nga sa isang comment dito. Nasa bible na, wives should submit theirselves to their husbands. And since nasa bible siya. Yeah! Dapat nga, sundin at gawin, Kahit mahirap, kailangan kayanin naten mga matatapang na wifies. That's life and we have to deal with it. Mahal na mahal ko ang asawa ko. At kahit ilang beses niya pa ako saktan. For the sake of my kids, and to re establish my family again. Magpapakumbaba ako. Tatanggapin ko lahat ng sakit. And I know, God will be there for me. And later in life, may nagaabang na kasiyahan sakin sa langit.

in some way, nagiging submissive din naman ako.. at dapat anjan taung mga wifey to support our husbands. Pero kapag alam ko ng medyo alanganin, talagang sumasagot na ako and trying to balance the arguments. kapag ako ang mali, im down on my pride and says sorry.. so ganun din sya.

hubby and i submit to each other.. kasi we respect each others strengths and knowledge.. we discuss things before deciding on any major stuff.. the key is listening to each other..

usually, if its in his forte (business, financial, etc) he has the final say.. but if its within mine, (baby stuff, home management, etc) ako ang may final say..

Agree to you sis..  ;)

Submissiveness should always be relative. Gone are the days when the woman always have to follow their husband on every situation. Being the wife nowadays means being a partner in the well-being of the family. If a conflict should arise, a woman must know how to softly and subtly change her husband's views.

i am submissive to hubby.. because he earned it :)..

before lagi kami naga-argue sa maraming bagay.. eh maexplain naman siya na tao and very patient sakin.. narerealize ko na mas ok nga yung gusto niya.. may pagkashortsighted kasi ako :P and hubby is the kind of person who thinks 3 to 4 steps ahead kaya kapag na-explain na niya, tameme na ako hehe

I think more than being submissive to your husband, mutual respect, love and caring is a lot more important. A healthy way of communication is also critical, kasi pag di kayo nagcocommunicate ng mabuti, dun nagkakaroon ng misunderstandings. Di naman dapat laging sa kanya or sayo ang final say... mas maganda na pinag-uusapan niyo lahat to come up with a decision that you both agree on.

With submission kasi, you are basically agreeing that your husband is superior, that he has the authority over you. In marriage, I believe you both have the authority over each other... you talk and compromise - you may disagree on things, but it doesn't mean na galit or tampo na kayo sa isa't-isa.

Women have come a long way from before... and I think this idea of needing to be "submissive" to your husband is due to the generations of women before that were under men's rule. Women were enslaved and subjugated, while men believed it was their right to do this to the women. Di pa ganun katagal na nagkaroon ng women's rights movements, where women fought for what was rightful to them. Kaya up till now, masyado pa ring brainwashed ang mga babae that they have to be or act a certain way to please men. Even now, marami pa ring mga babae sa ibang bansa na enslaved pa rin, not knowing a different way of life because of men.

And though I believe in the bible, I believe that it should be interpreted to adapt the modern times. And when you think about it, mga lalake rin ang nagsulat ng bible.

as soon as i saw the word "submissive" hay naku: no, no, no, no, double no, with sour cream on top  in the early years with bf, i saw him struggle with my stubborn streak... over the years, he has learned that i am always right  ;D... and if ever i'm not right, he knows he still has to yield - temporarily - until i come to realize my mistake on my own... somehow, it just works  :)

That shouldn't be that way sis, arguments shouldn't end up you guys hurting each other especially physically.  You have to know the roots where he is coming from. I am not saying it's all his fault or your fault but think it through. I know this is hard to believe that did you know that we women can make or break our husbands? I just finished a great book and it is helping my married life to become better. With me naman, gusto ko sanang maging submissive kay hubby.. kaya lang if conflicts arise, si hubby ang laging naggigive way para yung gusto ko masunod. Minsan nagiguilty ako kasi parang inaabuso ko ang bait nya.. but he always says that he love me that much kaya napapayes na lang sya sa mga decisions ko.

BAsta kahit gano pa katigas ulo ko, alam ko naman when to stop and I always give RESPECT  to him.

sabi sakin ni hubby kagabi, kailangan ko daw matuto maging submissive. kasi ang mga lalaki daw naturally, mataas ang pride. less than a year pa lang kasi kami eh. yung dati kong relationships, medyo ako yung dominant. pero this one is different kasi matanda si hubby ng more than 5 years sakin.

sabi rin ni hubby pag mainit ang ulo nya... hayaan ko na lang muna sya. wag ko daw sabayan sya at wag magtaray din whether he is right or wrong. basta daw palampasin ko lang then he will be alright... tsaka pag mainit ang ulo nya, lambingin ko lang daw sya then he will cool down and makakalimutan nya yung init ng ulo nya.
