I am submissive to my husband but perhaps some would argue about it. Medyo dominante kasi ako nung magbf-gf pa lang kami until the early years of our marriage pero now I adore my husband so much. He is born a leader and most of the time tama talaga siya and I guess what we have right now is more of because of his decisions. Kahit sa opisina nila boss na siya at his young age of 30 and under niya are 40+. I don't know how he do it pero super mangha ako and most of the time I tell him na I am so proud sa attitude nya. Siguro submissive din talaga ako sa kanya kasi nakikita ko na guided siya by good principles and very God fearing.....

i think its more of support and give our husbands the authority to be the head of the family. kahit na ba kahit anong klase pa ang plano niya, of course our point of view matters to what their final decision is, kaya husbands needs our full support in anything , in this way we can show that even if in our eyes hindi natin gusto, we become submissive and in the end everything really fall into its place. That's how God designed us, we wives should not overpower husbands cause its like disobeying his rules and likewise, it becomes our hindrance to his full blessings.

i really like your input sis, every couple has imperfections, but in this imperfections we find God's perfection in our lives. Sa umpisa, may barrier because of our individualities and personalities, pero if bonded tayo by God's grace, lahat nagiging ok naman, if we depend our marriage in Him nothing is impossible.

Thanks sis, am sure kung may kakilala lang ako dito hindi maniniwala na submissive ako kay hubby  ::)...Sanay kasi sila na ako ang boss sa aming dalawa but hubby and I know the real score. Gustong gusto kong pasakop kay hubby kasi gusto ko talaga maabsorb ang attitude niya towards work, family and friends. Alam mo yung tipong kahit hindi ko ito naging asawa, magugustuhan ko talaga personality nitong taong ito, parang mentor ko siya on a lot of things. Lately tuloy napapadalas ang sabi ko sa inlaws ko na ang ganda ng pagpapalaki nila sa anak nila and its worth for me to take a back seat and let him drive our marriage. He lead..I'll follow...

WE submitted ourselves to each other when we said our vows. i mean, neither of us is dominant in our marriage. my hubby said that in every aspect of our relationship, we should have equal rights & individual points of view should be taken with respect. that way, naiiwasan ang arguements. well, di maiiwasan ang pagtatalo especially in tough situations. tapos bratty pa daw ako according to my hubby and my parents. nung mag-bf/gf pa lang kami ni hubby, i always had my way, ako lagi ang nasusunod. but when we got married, i learned to set aside my selfishness at yung pagiging bratty na rin. i think wives should NOT be submissive, instead we should be cooperative. di yung sa lahat ng desisyon ng lalaki eh OO na lang ang laging sagot.

Colossians 3:18-19 reads, “Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.” Ephesians 5:22-29 (excerpts) says, “Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church…(25), Husbands, love your wives just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her… husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies…” (I encourage you to read the whole passage).

"... its worth for me to take a back seat and let him drive our marriage. He lead..I'll follow..."
very well said sis, i like!!
true, its in our submission to our husbands that God desires. Not just Cooperation or engagement but Submission.

Submission is a word which can be described/defined as “willing conciliation.”
That means that the wife should be “willing,” not coerced. Wives are to respect their husbands. Husbands are to be considerate of their wives. Both partners should be willing to “put the other’s interests above his/her own” as Philippians 2 describes. The woman should be willing to submit to her husband not be unwilling or forced. The man should be a loving, servant leader – accountable and responsible to God and his family. A loving leader leads –doesn’t manipulate or pressure. A submitter doesn’t “take over.”

Pero sa modern world, give and take na dapat.. :)

yup nasa bibile yan and sinasabi yan ng pare as part of the wedding rites. kaya ako kung hindi ko kaya mag submit dun sa guy hindi ko sya pakakasalan. i will marry the guy i can respect and submit to meaning may tiwala ako sa decision making niya and bilib ako sa mga diskarte niya sa buhay.

di kasi magwowork ang fifty-fifty relationship , yeah it has to be give and take but i believe na it should be in 100% give and 100% take. hindi pwede halfway. we wives should meet our significant other whatever flaw. the same goes with them.. that's how God designed marriage..
"unconditional love" .. i know wives who become submissive really knows the truth.

Good thing hubby is more submissive than I.. hahaha!
I have a very strong personality, his personality is just so-so kaya balance naman :)

well, i thought that i cannot do this because i've always been the dominant one between the two of us.  but while we were preparing for our marriage I realized that it was my role to be "submissive" but of course it's different from martyrdom!

i speak my mind, give my opinion, oftentimes i push or "lobby" for my choices but in the end, submission means, the final word would be his.  what he says, goes but not without me saying my piece.  if i don't agree i just pray that either he changes his mind or that he made the best decision.

pero sa little things like what to cook for dinner, what i'll wear, where to go for a trip, he lets me do my thing unless he really disapproves of something then that'll be open for another discussion. :)

6 years of married life half-submissive half not ako hehe. like others said depende pa din sa ugali ng isa't isa pero ako tinitignan ko naman kung tama si hubby saka ako papasakop pero pag hindi talagang welga ako. lagi kong katwiran wala ba akong free will hehe. matigas din kasi ulo ko eh pero pag nakikita ko naman tama sya at para sa pamilya naman namin na feeling ko eh maggo grow yung relationship then nagpapasakop naman ako :)

Yes, its biblical to submit pero kelangan din nating i-weigh kung tama ba, kasi may mga bagay na alam nating mali and if we submit it only makes things worst, its not submitting anymore its tolerating...May husband is a gambler, he works sleepless nights just to spend it in his gambling spree, pagod na rin ako sa kaka-nag, i just let him do it as long as he provides the family's needs although hindi rin lahat.

I don't consider myself as the submissive type. I am more of dominant ang strong-willed. But I let my husband take charge once in a while. I would let him feel that he rules the house or he has the last say kahit ako pa rin yon :) Kasi ayaw kong ma-feel niya na under siya or wala siyang power. I want him to be the man of the house, the king of his castle. I learned siguro through the years of being married. All hte ups and downs. You have to strike a balance in your relationship.

Hubby and I discussed this submission thingy as part of our marriage prep course before our wedding. Na-clarify naman between the both of us that submission is not the same as martyrdom, as what sis k00lit said, and should be a natural response to love.

So ang nangyayari, hubby has the general leadership sa amin. that means for big issues, we discuss, compromise, pero he gives the general and final direction... and i'm going to support that. pag may further issues na nag-arise, pag-usapan na naman ulit. he appreciates that. Actually, dahil we both recognize his role as the head of the family, pinagbinigyan na nya ako sa mga maliliit na bagay. eh sa marriage namin, andami maliiit na bagay hehe. and bec. secured sya, it becomes his joy to say yes to what will make me happy. :)
