Mga  mommies,

What potty training seat would you recommend?  My daughter is now 14 months and I'm planning to get her started sitting on a potty seat. I saw yung pwede maging step stool later on.  Youji & Me and Baby 1st ata may ganitong types.

^ Sis, with my sons, I got them the potty seat that you put on top of the regular toilet seat.  The pedia said okay daw yun than a separate potty since they will eventually use the regular toilet seat.   I got a stool lang sa SM where they can stand up.  Always naman supervised pag nag-toilet sila to minimize the risk of falling.

i got the safety first potty seat with lid. this eventually can be used as a step stool then the seat itself is transferable to a regular toilet.

ako rin, am thinking of what to get - kung yun separate na potty or yun pinapatong na lang...

marose & hunny_ally, how much did you get yours for? what brand pala yun kinuha mo marose?

^ Super cheap lang kinuha kong potty.  I got it for P350 at Shopwise.  I saw exactly the same thing, same design, but different brand at Rustan's - nasa P2000.

^ Sorry, I can't recall na.  It's a potty na you put on top of the toilet seat lang.  The design is dolphins - blue and red on white.

I saw the same thing pala in Babyland Eastwood last weekend, but hindi ko na-check ang price.

The Baby First potty seats range from P1,299 (regular plastic rim) to P1,699 (soft foam-like rim para comfy - in blue or pink) at SM Baby Co. - SM Southmall.  I already have the patong baby seat (Snoopy print - choice ni mommy!  ) so I'm reluctant to incur additional expenses for the potty seats.

My yaya tried the patong baby seat and ayaw pa ni baby - is 14 months too early?  I'm thinking lang kase mas baby-friendly ang potty seat and we can get her started right away.  Still deliberating kung gagastos pa si mommy.

^ I think 14 months may be too early.  I didn't start potty-training my boys until they were already more than 2 years old.  But, iba-iba ang babies.  Mas mabilis daw i-potty-train ang girls.

May signs of readiness for potty-training, e.g., diapers stay dry for a long time, baby can say wee-wee or poo-poo, baby's poo schedule is more or less established (e.g., baby poops in the morning after breakfast each day), etc.

Rose, i will start na to potty train hershey. agree with you. i see those signs you mentioned na. she says wee wee or oo ooo na.

one time di namin sya pinag da-diaper tapos run sya sa toilet sa room kala ko ano gagawin yun pala wee wee pero unfortunately di umabot sa toilet. sa door lang nag wee na sya.

question..
at what age ba dapat wash na direct sa faucet ang bumbum ni baby after pooping?
ngayon kasi naka wipes, cotton balls, water sprayer and j&j baby wash blue ang gamit namin..

isip ko kasi pwede na? kasi she started with solids na eh..baka di na kayanin ng punas punas [textspeak!] with wiper and cotton balls..baka dapat direct water na from the faucet..pero when i told the yaya about this medyo hesitant sya..medyo nerbyos din ako kasi baka madulas sila or something sa bayo..haaayyy

^ Kami, noong kaya na i-hold ng babies ko ang head nila, tapos hindi na gaanong fragile. wash na kami sa faucet.  Pero, ni-wipe pa rin namin yung sides ng cotton balls or wipes para hindi masyadong messy.

Basta, ingat lang ang hawak kay baby.

^^Kami naman when my baby was 5-12 months, at home, punas with wipes muna then hugas sa lababo.  12 months onwards, I bought a baby toilet seat na and wash her on the toilet with a bidet hose.  When out I still use wipes and spray (water + Lactacyd).

@liya, nakakuha ako ng tip sayo.. water sprayer.. nice idea.. instead of faucet.. pero hindi ba mahirap hugasan bumbum ni baby kasi konti ng water sa water sprayer? lalo na pag sandamak mak poop ni baby.. LOL.. or pang infant lang to? semi toddler na kasi son ko...
