Si Ayex mejo maaga nagstart.

Una mahirap talaga kasi working parents kami so naiiwan siya sa helper and lola/lolo. She refused to use the potty trainer we bought, mas trip niya sa sahig. :-| May panahon na nilagyan siya ng diaper and when I get home at nakadiaper siya, I always ask why and then explain to them bakit hindi siya dapat lagyan ng diaper. Yun, naintindihan naman nila and because of that super successful na kami ngayon.

Then one time, gusto na niya maupo sa bowl.

i think mommies, nasa readiness and willingness po ng baby. we can set as an example to them tapos maybe, it will take a while before they absorb it. kung sa bahay lang po kayo, bayaan ninyo walang underwear and tell them pano ang tamang pag wiwi at poop sa cr. :)

matagal lang pero it will come, as long as ready na si baby.

sorry, mahaba  :-*

yung son ko ayaw talaga mag sit sa potty. he doesnt even like us to look at him while he's making poop. parang nahihiya...recently i bought children's book entitled "Once Upon A Potty" and may mga photos dun na nasa potty yung baby...i read it to him everyday...now medyo he can sit na sa potty unlike before pero di pa rin siya dun napu-poop! hehe! slowly but surely kami ngayon.

Oh no!  Late na ata.  I haven't started potty training Zoe. :-[  I guess it's about time na nga since she knows how to say "poo-poots" when she's about to poo.  Can you recommend a good brand of potty?  Ok ba yun may mga sounds or mas nakaka-distract?  How about kiddie books and videos about potty training?

My daughter was 1yr4mos when we started to potty train her, I bought soft potty with handles at Mothercare (this is the potty you put atop of the toilet bowl)... at first, she goes down after a minute, then we try again. After a few days, she became more cooperative. We bring her to the toilet every 2 hours... makes her pee before she goes to sleep and when she wakes up. At 1yr6mos, she doesn't wear diapers during the day. She also goes to the toilet's door when she needs to pee or poop (and then we accompany her). It usually takes her about 15mins to poop so she brings her picture books while pooping or "reads" the magazine, LOL! Sometimes at night she wakes up to pee in her potty :) I hope she won't have to wear diapers soon, she'll be turning 2 next month already.

Boys are harder to potty-train.  My sons are 2 years, 7 months old and they know how to pee and poop in the toilet.  The problem is consistency.  They have frequent "accidents" so I'm not totally confident letting them go diaper-free.  I hope before they turn 3, they will be fully toilet-trained already.

marose17, it took my son a while din to potty train. He was past 3 when he was fully potty trained and lately lang din that he wakes up by himself at night to relieve himself.

^ That's reassuring. :)  We don't make a big deal when they make a mess.  Lately though, they've been very eager to wear briefs, instead of nappies.

ay naku mga sisses sobrang hirap ko itrain [textspeak!] son ko. he's 6y.o. now and yet late last yr lang sya natutong mag poo sa cr, he used to use a diapper everytime kelangan nya mag poop. good thing maaga sya ng konti natutong mag wewee sa cr, 3y.o. constipated din sya that actually lead to chronic abnominal pains, he was under medication for 3months and sa awa ng Diyos these times regular na yung bowel movement nya. It was when suffered abdominal pains that he learned to use the cr kase nga di pala nya nalalabas lahat when using diapper coz he doesn't like the feeling na merong something down there kaya he would say he's done na kaya ayun isa yun sa mga reasons kung bakit sumasakit na tiyan nya. We explained well to him na it's best to use the bowl than diapper para di na sumasakit tummy nya and nakinig naman. Challenge ko na naman yung 1y.o. daughter ko this time. :)

;D i learned the trick from my SIL.

Nun maliliit pa kids ko, Bago pa sila mg-2 years old di na sila ng ddiapers. They wear their undies and shorts lang sa bahay, shmepre sa umpisa laging ma-weewee-an ang undies pero they'd get the hang of it and they learned the signs agad if maweewee pa sila or ma-poops. hehe

(it saved us money hehe) So if they feel the urge to use the the toilet, nghahatak na sila dun. ng-ddiapers lang sila pag aalis kami.

Lazy pa ko to potty train my baby pero naisip ko maybe it's about time.  She's been using a toilet seat for when I wash her.  Minsan natsa-tsambahan ko to place her on it when her face shows she's about to poo.  Other than that, yun pa lang ginagawa ko as first steps.  What should I do next if I want to seriously train her na?  I remember reading some tips here before from someone who works in an office that published one potty training book?  Di ko na mahanap yun.  Took her 10 days lang ba yun?  Also, what are training pants?  Reusable ba ang mga ito?  Is there a recommended brand for girls?  Thanks!
