mga sis, i'm a catholic. si fiance naman ay Born Again. before I went home from SG, nakapagbook na ang sister ko ng church sa Claret sa Diliman. pero just recently, napapayag ako na Christian wedding na, hindi ako pinilit ni husband to be. Nahassle-an na lang talaga ako sa processes ng pagpapakasal sa catholic. so we booked Oasis na (both the garden and pavillion) for ceremony and venue. wala naman issue sa family ko. do you think improper itong naging decision ko kung hindi pa naman ako willing talaga magpaconvert? hindi naman din kasi ako nirequire ng church nila husband to be which is weird. ewan ko ba, siguro kasi for the past years, hindi rin naman ako masyado nagsisimba na talaga sa catholic. parang wala akong religion lately pero i do believe in God of course. help mga sis. i really don't know kung dapat ko bang problemahin ito. gusto ko lang if ever maaassure ako na hindi mali ang decision ko because my intention lang is to lessen the hassle of the preps. ni wala ako idea ano magigng flow ng ceremony.

^ hi sis! im a catholic and h2b is a born again christian.. christian wedding kami and im not converting  anytime soon. :) not because i dont believe in their teachings or whatever, hindi pa lang talaga ako handa. and h2b knows that. at wala naman issue.

i dont think there's anything wrong with your plans ni h2b mo. tsaka i think, marriage and religion are two different things. hindi dahil christian ceremony kayo eh dapat na magpaconvert or unfair kung di papaconvert. the wedding ceremony is a celebration of your union, of your love and not your a statement of your individual beliefs.

just my two cents. :)

thanks sis salvage_me. i appreciate your thoughts. medyo napanatag na ako ngayon, ayoko lang talaga lumabas na parang ginagamit ko yung religion nila just for my convenience (well guilty talaga ako sa part na ito). pero still. ayun. tama ka, at the end of the day, what i want is for our relationship to be sealed and blessed by God kahit sino pa magkasal sa amin. thank you din sa isa pa nating sis who took time to send me a pm and gave me assurances on this. super helpful talaga ng mga tao dito. :)

sis IAMkrish as of now, wala pa naman pinapasign sa amin na ganun yung church nila h2b. iba iba din kasi ang requirements ng church. natanong mo ba ang effect if you sign that? if for formality, baka pede naman siguro. but before doing so, make sure lang na clear na it's not for conversion din. nakausap mo na ba si h2b about it?

sis mikaidg5 no problem sis. anytime. :) when wedding mo?

Right now, we're currently looking for a ceremony venue for our Christian wedding.
We're looking for a Christian church (that looks like a chapel or church talaga) that allows non-members and can hold Sunday weddings.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated :)

My best friend got married at Ellinwood in 2012 and she and her husband were non-members; not sure what their policy is regarding Sunday weddings though.

Hi @Melusine! I've asked Ellinwood but unfortunately they don't allow Sunday weddings. Thank you so much for the list along with picture links. This would be really helpful. :)

hello! i have the same question as rhosalie... Although, kami we are both Catholics, but we want it garden civil wedding, pero gusto din sana namin na may blessing from above. I wonder, pwede bang ang pastor magkasal sa amin kahit hindi kami parehong christian?

We're hoping for your replies. :) Have a great week ahead!  8)

Hi rhosalie :) a garden wedding doesn't necessarily mean a Christian wedding. It can either be a civil wedding officiated by a judge, mayor, etc or a Christian ceremony officiated by a pastor. Yes, you can have candle, cord and veil as well in your entourage if you're having a Christian ceremony. :)

Hi yellowmoon :) as what my pastor told my fiance and I recently, now it has been an important requirement that either one of the couple is a member of the sect/community of your chosen pastor. That might be possible if there will be a pastor willing to marry you outside of their sect. As of now, I only know pwedeng magkasal na non-members are in a church setting such as some in the list melusine gave previously. Although both or at least one of you should be a Christian. Even more, when the ceremony is outside of the church. From what I know even if you get a Solemnizing Officer na Pastor for an outside ceremony..either one of you should belong to your chosen officiant's sect and at the same time your officiant should be registered with the local civil registrar. Perhaps someone can elaborate more on this.

If you really desire to have a Christian ceremony then maybe you can ask around your friends who are Christians. Perhaps a pastor from their church or if they personally know a pastor who can officiate your wedding.

Having a Christian wedding is not just about the ceremony but it's all about Him. So it's better parin to get married in a setting where your Faith is. :)

Hope I helped even a bit hehe. Happy preps to both of you :)

Hello!

I need your suggestions guys. A friend of mine's about to get married. Kaso tinanggihan sila nung church where they belong. Kasi annulled yung friend ko. Di daw nagkakasal yung christian church nila ng mga annulled (which in my opinion is very condescending, pretentious and judgemental). Kaya ngayon problem nila magofficiate ng wedding nila. Di ko naman masuggest yung sa amin na pastor dahil same church kami (medyo nadisillusioned nga din ko sa church namin after ko nalaman ito lol). Baka may alam kayo na pastor/church na nagofficiate ng non-member and annulled and can adjust sa very short time ng counselling. Thanks thanks!

Hi salvage_me, I suggest dun sa faith nila Kiko Pangilinan and Sharon Cuneta. Nag church wedding yun e, christian wedding, kasi annuled si Sharon dba. Ang alam ko e ang mga Pangilinans, Sharon & Gary also ay sa Victory, VCF or katulad nun.

Hi mga sis, we're Christians and active members of VCF. ang requirement na kailangan atleast 1 (either h2b or b2b) ay member ng church. though im not sure kung nagkakasal yung pastor namin ng annuled..

Hi sis IAMkrish! It really depends on the practice of the church or pastor who will officiate the wedding. But usually, there's also someone who reads the Bible. Better ask your officiating minister to be sure :)

sissies question lang.. sa ceremony ba ang mag sasalita the whole time is yung pastor? wala ba i-assign sa family member na mag babasa, parang sa catholic? thanks
