Thanks sis.  But here's what I read in my laptop's manual:

Do NOT remove the battery pack while using the Notebook PC with the AC adaptor to prevent damage caused by the accidental power loss.

I'm puzzled now.  Which is a better option kaya?  To remove or not to remove?

^sis,  maybe what your manual meant was not  to remove the batts while the lappy is actually turned On and plugged... just maybe.

question po, is it really necessary to use cooling pads? paano kung naka A/C naman ang room? ok na ba iyon?

^Sis, I also have an Asus U81A.  Is it ok to remove the battery while using the laptop and just plug it in the wall socket?  Do you do that?

^ I don't remove my battery. Kasi mas safe daw in case na may power fluctuations. Medyo pasaway din kasi ako, i tend to overcharge. :p

i think it's ok to remove the battery basta may UPS. Kung wala, it would be better not to take it off..

glamorouschic, thanks! I won't remove it na lang.  Guilty din ako sa overcharging.  Although umiinit siya when its plugged and in use.   How long does your battery life last when its fully charged?

IMO, its not necessary. even electric fan okay na.

I'm not so sure. Siguro about 4-5 hours kung purely typing on MS Word lang. Kaso I usually watch series online/listen to music, so medyo mas nakakakain ng energy yun.

the battery life depends kung ilang cell battery mo..3-cell battery usually lasts 2 hours(if i'm not mistaken)..so the higher the cell the longer the battery life..but it still depends kung gano ka dami ang processes that are running on your laptop..if you're running different programs simultaneously then mas mabilis siyang malo lowbat.

i don't think it's necessary, you just have to make sure that your laptop fan isn't blocked, so that it can breathe. Never place your laptop on soft surfaces.

ako wala akong idea kung ano ba ang tamang pag maintain ng laptop alam ko lang gamitin pero sa tamang pag aalaga di pa ako aware, till i came across to this thread and dami ko natutunan pero so far so good pa naman sa laptop ko 3 yrs na din eto na gamit ko and reformat [textspeak!] naman ang napagawa ko dito kasi madalas mag hung pc ko siguro dahil maliit lang kaya memory nya now eto ulit prob ko palaging nag huhung maiwan ko lang saglit hung na ano ba dapat kung gawin need ko na naman ba pare format  sometimes kasi nakakalimutan ko din naoover charge ko battery while working tapos naka steady lang yong laptop case nya kahit nasa haouse lang ako dko tinantanggal di naman sya umiinit sometimes 12 hours staright din na naka open ang laptop ko ok lang ba yun

glamorouschic, thanks i was wondering kasi other feedbacks on Asus U81A i read online would say na 4 hours daw battery life nila mostly US based sila.  I was thinking something's wrong with my battery wala naman pala.  Hehe 4 hours nga siya pag MS word or excel lang pero pag naka online mga 2-3 hours lang.

Ako din. Lagi lang naman ako nasa bahay so yun laptop ko lagi lang din nakakaplug. Sobrang bihira mangyari na gagamitin ko sya unplugged sa outlet. Mas lalo bang hihina ang lifespan ng battery ng laptop pag ganon? Paglagi nakasaksak ang laptop with the battery charging while using eh mas lalong madaling masisira?

I think talagang me life span lang ang battery e. For instance 'yung sa 'kin, mga one or twice a month ko na lang 'sya ginagamit para ma-calibrate 'yung longevity nya since lagi lang din ako sa house kaya madalas hindi ko talaga ginagamit. I don't know lang kung 'yung mga battery ng brand ko eh talagang 1 1/2 hour lang kaya itagal kasi since binili ko sya hindi ko talaga magamit ng matagalan 'to with just the battery on.

i got a tip drom our computer expert sa office (hehe) na whenever nakaconnect sa charger yung lappie, mas ok na alisin ang batt to prolong yung buhay ng battery..

helpful ang thread na to ah... first time ko kasi mag own ng lappy.. and medyo scared ako kasi nga first time. compared sa desktop na kahit bara bara mo gamitin, carry lang niya.


i just thought na someone needs an info.. 
i bought a laptop sleeve last night sa MOA, it costs me Php 485. nahirapan kasi ako maghanap ng affordable. sa mobile clothing sya, lahat daw ng SM Malls meron nun except Makati.
