UPDATE: My kids and I got our transit visas (this is GRATIS) a week after I submitted our docs...it was a breeze pala and I worried too much over nothing...haha...via air21, and very efficient n speedy service

last nov, i got multiple na US visa. sana lucky rin ako sa canadian visa.

im worried lang about the documents again.

^just like the US embassy, the Canadian embassy do not accept bank certifications anymore since they don't show the history of the account. Before kasi pang show money ang ginagawa ng iba. The applicants will borrow money from friends or relatives then deposit the money into their accounts. Then they'll ask the bank for a b.c. syempre the bank will just reflect the amount in the account. Then they'll show the embassy na they have money to spend. And as soon as the interview's done isoli na nila yung pera. So, the embassies have wisen up to this common modus operandi and required a bank account history. Mas mahirap kasi manghiram ng pang matagalan di ba?

Got my CDN visa in approx. 2 weeks. Submitted both bank cert and bank history (got this online) and VL approvals

Now, what to do in Toronto and Montreal...

while in Toronto you can visit:

Niagara falls - around 2.5 hrs from Toronto
CN Tower - downtown Toronto
Toronto Zoo - in Scarborough (one of the largest in the world)
Casa Loma
Botanical Garden
Ontario Science Centre
Centre island - visit the nudist beach there
Vaughan Mills, Yorkdale Mall, Eaton Centre
royal ontario museum

depending on the season, you can also go to the nearby provinces to go camping, fishing, skiing, etc.

You can also visit Ottawa for a quick stop before or after Montreal. Visit Notre Dame in Montreal (where Celine Dion got married). also in Montreal, all the street signs are in French.

@quian-to tell you honestly, I find their website super confusing and disorganized. Too many links and I got some forms pa that are not necessary or applicable. Good thing I keep calling the hotline for updated info. It used to be ok before! Mas user-friendly ang US Embassy webbie, IMO.

I also was kind of hesitant submitting original documents. I don't trust anybody with them so I keep scanned copies of everything.

Hindi nga user-friendly yung site nila. Na-miss ko pa yung 2 additional forms exclusive for Filipino applicants. Buti na lang sinabi sakin nung tumawag na ko for pick-up. Madami sigurong nakaka-miss.

^Yeah, I know they do but you can never erase the factor of human error so it's better to be safe than sorry. I already finished the procedure last month pa.

to be honest, even though i suggested those places for you to visit, i have never been to some of them though i have been living here for quite a while already.

you could have gone on vacation here during the summer or late spring when the weather is more welcoming. maybe next time.

how much ang budget mo dito ? I will go to toronto for a 3 weeks vacation. July 3-July 26.. enough na ba ang $1300 budget??

no i already purchased my fare via cathay pacific.. its USD1,410...what i meant is yung expenses na dun sa toronto. ill be staying with my sister so free ang accommodation ko. how much kaya dapat ang budget sa pag tour around toronto? and nagdala ka rin ba ng US dollar aside from canadian dollar?

^if you wont go shopping ok na yan.
since you have a relative who can tour you around, you dont really need much money since most probably they'd take care of the transpo and hopefully the food.

if you want to go around the tourist spots yourself, go get a ttc day pass but plan the places you will visit. you can spend a day in the business district, visit casa loma, rom, cn tower, eaton centre or just go around the city by foot then buy some hotdogs from the street vendors. tipid.

the next day go to centre island or the zoo. or if you want to go to an amusement centre, there's canada's wonderland. vaughan mills mall is also very near cw so you can drop by there also.

the ttc/yrt/viva/brampton/mississauga transit is an efficient way to go around the gta if you want to explore alone. and no, you dont need US$ although most establishment accept that currency. enjoy!

rics is right. You don't need so much if you won't go shopping (although the outlet shops at Brampton/Mississauga are really tempting. The TTC per day fare is about CAD 3, useful the whole day na. I bought the Toronto City Pass for CAD 65.99 for all the attractions na yun (CN Tower, Casa Loma, Zoo, Science Centre and ROM). Sulit sya
