that is very true..when I tried to apply a TRV one of the supporting docs was my father's bank certificate (which is at the states) and another from here sa pinas. I had my own bank certificate, I just used my father's para sure na meron talaga akong pang gastos, but still I got denied. Money is not the only factor.

i think ang nakasira sa iyo ay ang bank certifcate galing sa dad mo. you said that the account is from the states? does that mean your dad lives in the states (US)? if so, baka nagkaroon ng doubt yung visa officer kung bakit doon manggaling ang pera na gagastusin mo. na baka ginagamit mo lang ang Canada para tumawid sa US. that's just how i explain it. or baka nagtataka sila bat mo pinapakita yung pera ng tatay mo e nasa tamang edad ka na. i mean you're not a student anymore or a teenager i presume. 

kasi be very careful when sending supporting documents and where its coming from. i think its better that the money and assets is in your name coz that money is readily available when needed. unless you have a relative abroad who is willing to support you and give you a letter and supporting docs that they are willing to finance your trip (kahit sa papel lang), then you have a better chance of getting an approval.

 sisses it's a "better luck next time" for us  received our docs last friday. di na namin mamamaximize us trip namin this may but ok lang, atleast we tried. hahaay, ang pinanghihinayangan ko talaga yung chance na magkita kami ng sister ko. i've read I can apply sa NY, try ko na lang ulet. di talaga naggive up no?

Give it to Canadians, they're efficient..! On exactly the 10th day, Air21 delivered my visa. Their website said, Processing takes 10 to 15 working days.

@sofibanofi shucks I didn't read your message before posting. Hopefully they tell you the reason why? They better!! Abusado pag hindi, you have a right to be informed. 

U.S. Visa ka na lang .  Go ahead and submit!! Di naman ganuon ka unreasonably strict ang U.S....

^sis it's ok  actually we all have our us visa na, plan sana namin (me, hubby and my 2 yr old daughter) magside trip to canada while in the us. eto yung reason ng canadian embassy " I considered your ties to your country of residence/citizenship balanced against factors which might motivate  you to stay in Canada". 
Sayang kasi I really just wanted to visit the country, my sis in particular. Strict lang talaga siguro yung visa officer na naghawak ng docs namin plus madami na sigurong cases na nabigyan tas nagoverstay na sa kanila kaya ganyan sila kahigpit ngayon. Malas lang kasi wala kaming ganong intention tas refused kami. I'm planning to reapply pag nasa ny na kami. Try and try ang drama ko.

Just received it yesterday, and I got a bit upset last night. very depressing.

I had the following docs:
>bank certificate and bank statements of my sole account sa HSBC
>bank certificate and bank statements of my hubby's and my account sa HSBC din (joint)
>2 land titles under my name
>my business registration from BIR
>Mayor's permit
>DTI
>a letter of eligibility to take an exam sa Nova Scotia (i'm a nurse kasi)
>my confirmed airplane tickets for my south east asian trip sa August to September
>my e-ticket for Cebu sa August, Bohol and Busuanga for July
>lease ng apartment namin under my name

I was traveling alone. My husband and son would stay here lang sa Pinas while I was supposed to go on the trip.

I applied for a single entry visa lang. I was supposed to leave at the end of May and come back by the second week of June.

If ever I got denied, it would be simply because I am a NURSE and I'm only 22. kainis. pero ganon talaga....hay

isipin mo na lang, maybe inispare lang tayo ni God sa pwedeng masamang mangyari if we're granted visa di ba? Atleast sis somehow u know the probable reason of the refusal of your applic. Imagine we got denied because they consider our ties in the philippines BALANCED against the factors which might motivate us to stay in canada. I mean, it's depressing if I take it seriously. like u, I have included all the necessary docs para wala na silang maisip na kulang sinubmit ko. but then again, they have a different take on approving one's applic. buti pa sana kung me personal interview ano? di bale sis, God has good plans for us, in His time. smile ka na.

the fact na nagsubmit ka ng letter of eligibility to take an exam in nova scotia, made the visa officer doubtful of your application. sis, dapat hindi mo na lang ito sinama sa application mo. hindi naman ito requirement for TRV. sometimes giving "too much" information is also not helpful. it gives them reason to question the application. better luck next time.

@sofibanofi, with their explanation to as why they rejected your application, the way i interpret it is that you don't have enough ties to your country (philippines) to make you want to go back. like what ive said before, mas importante sa kanila na ma-prove mo na babalik ka sa pinas at wala kang balak na magoverstay. siguro base na rin sa edad mo, career (baka in demand sa canada) kaya napaisip sila na baka hindi ka na bumalik. kung wala ka namang work, lalo na silang doubtful na aalis ka pa sa canada. kung yung bibisitahin mong kapatid nagiisa mo lang na kapatid, pagdududahan din nila yon.

my parents came here twice already in the past 6 years. siguro dahil matanda na sila kaya lagi silang na-a-approve. naisip ng visa officer na hindi na sila makakapag-work pa at ako lang naman andito, lahat ng family ko na sa pinas so they have no reason to stay. at 2 months lang ang pinakamatagal nilang stay.

sorry to hear na nadeny kayo pero try lang siguro ng try. medyo praning/paranoid talaga ang mga visa officers ng canada. you have to think like them para magkaroon kayo ng understanding how they approve applications. i agree na mas ok pa yung dati na merong interview, at least nakikita ka nila at nagkakaroon sila ng impression kesa sa papel lang.

Pag matatanda wala ng tanung tanong, approved agad. Ang mother ko twice na nagpunta dito, kahit medical hindi ni-require. Ang alam kong usually naa-approve agad, kapag mag-aalaga ng may sakit or bata.

thanks sis tigershark I was thinking maybe because family kami nagapply that's why we got refused. Pero yun nga, dapat kasi side trip lang namin yung visit to canada on the duration of our US trip. Ok lang naman ako with it, surprise visit ko sana sister ko. I have 3 siblings and sya lang naman ang nasa canada. Both my parents are still here in the phils. Complete din papers ng business namin ni hubby, bank certs and enough savings to provide for our trip. Tama, try lang ng try. I'll try to reapply pag nasa ny na ko, this time I'll provide na letter of invitation and other docs from my sister. Yun din yung isang naisip ko bakit kami di nabigyan.

^ay hindi ba siya nagbigay ng letter of invitation sa iyo? she should have! all the while i thought meron ka kasama ng application mo. napaka-importante nun. well, hindi pa rin guarantee na ma-approve ka pero plus factor na din. yeah try mo next time i-submit yon together with their supporting documents (bank statements, employment certificate and photocopy of status in canada) baka sakaling favourable ang response. isang ding naiisip ko e yung age ninyo na pwede pa kayong magwork at buong family kayong nag-a-apply kaya siguro takot sila magbigay ng visa. hay... with God nothing is impossible

@kavendaak, talaga ngang pag matanda wala nang tanong-tanong. my parents got their visas again today lang, last week lang nila pinasa. ang alam ko, hinihingan lang ng medical report kapag nasa 75 and up na ang edad. kasi yung tita ko na paalis din TRV siya, nag-request ng medical report yung embassy. she's old na, mga around 80 years old. meron naman akong kasama dito, na-deny ang mom niya kahit kumpleto ang documents. bata pa ang mom niya at nagwo-work. siguro malaking factor din ang age.

^ yes sis, it was supposed to be a surprise visit kasi. had I known, ininform ko na sya and asked for an invitation letter and all the necessary docs. nalaman na lang ng sis ko after the decision has been made. lesson learned nga eh. next time, ganon na gagawin ko. thanks sis!

question naman po:

if ever you are granted a single entry visa , i read na usually 6 months ang validity nun.

so paano po yun? like for example this april 2010 mag apply, so assuming ma grant ng single entry visa.

so when po nag start yung validity na 6 months?
so dapat ba makapag travel na agad between april - sept 2010?
ganun po ba yun?

what if december 2010 pa plan mag travel or maybe early next year, so dapat hindi muna mag apply now?

pa question po ulit, so assuming na grant ka ng visa this april or may, until when po dapat magamit mo yung visa or mag enter ng canada? usually po ba ilang months until ma expire yung visa mo?

^Nakalagay sa visa yung expiration. Meaning, you have to enter Canada before that date.

i just want to share kung gaano kabilis yung processing nung visa namin - are applications (7 lahat) was picked up May 12 and then we got it na last Saturday, May 22 and thank you lord nabigyan naman kaming lahat. i think nakatulong din ng malaki yung tour certificate namin from cosmos (int'l company), pero feeling ko lang yun. although the 6 of us have current US visas (my husband's expired na kasi and he hasn't applied yet).  2 families kami, kami ng husband ko + my parents-in-law and then best friend ng in-laws ko plus their son (30+ yo). yun lang, share ko lang po. just want to pay it forward.

Pa join!.. I got denied nung March 2008 kasabay kong mag apply yung mommy ko.. My mom got multiply entry visa, pero ako denied, i applied for single entry..
Siguro kase 5 months pa lang ako sa company ko nun and sa call center pa ako dati. Now 2 years na ako sa new company ko and my salary is 3x higher.. I'll be applying again.. Sana maapprove *cross fingers*

..and wala pa pala ako travel history, pero still hoping for for a second try

mga sis, what does a good "invitation letter" comprise? my bestfriend is based in toronto, canada - she's getting married late next year there. syempre invited ako, pero have to apply for a visit/tourist visa pa diba?
babalik din naman ako kasi may hubby & 2 kids ako dito, & may work ako. hindi naman siguro ako ma-deny noh? hehe.
how much ba ang kailangan ko ihanda na money for the application & all?

^Nakalagay dapat kung ano ang purpose ng pag-invite at kung ano ang iso-shoulder ng nag-invite during your stay. Ang fee ay $75 (not sure kung tumaas na) for single entry visa.
