mga sis, ask ko lang if you have to provide land titles as proof that you're going back here because you have properties. Okay lang kayang photocopies?

My tourist visa application was picked up today. I hope the results will be positive this time around. I'm expecting to get the results around the 2nd or 3rd week of April. Wish me luck!

Hi sis, same  tayo. our application (me, hubby & daughter) were picked up naman last feb 22. single entry ba nilagay mo? ako kasi nilagay ko na multiple since fixed yung family rate either single or multiple.  di ba sabi 10-15 working days? hay, kinakabahan ako. I hope positive maging resulta ng application natin

ako naman sis...i'm planning to go to NY muna tas tawid ako Canada...pano kaya magandang gawin... mas madali ba ma-approve pag single entry?

thanks sis ikang! wala pa sis eh. most probably next week me resulta na. I am hoping for a positive result talaga kasi kailangan naming magkita ng sis ko sa canada. anyway, may tiwala naman ako sa Kanya eh. I mean kung ano man maging result, it's for the best. 

@sis prettypurple: yun din plan namin that's why we applied for a canadian tourist visa. isa-side trip sana namin when we go to NY this may. kumbaga maximize na namin yung family trip since 7 hrs drive lang naman sya coming from NY. are u travelling alone? best siguro to choose single entry.

if you want to cross border, let's say from NY to canada, you still need to apply a canadian tourist visa from here (country of origin). yun ang pagkakaalam ko. hindi yata pwde yung mag-cross ng border ng walang visa for that country.

Sis tama bang feb 22 pinick up application niyo? or march 22? kasi if feb 22, yung processing time ng application niyo ay sobra pa sa sobra. diba 10-15 working days lang dapat?

buti pa kayo mga sis naka pag pass na ng application ako hindi pa hehe.. wala pang time para mag ayos ng papers, yung papers niyo through mail lang? no interviews ? na ask ko na pala to sa previous post ko, anyways balitaan niyo nalang me sis sa application niyo.. Sana this summer maybe sa June maka pag pass na din ako.. Para if ever magrant summer ako makapunta sa Toronto.. tagal ko ng gusto magtour hindi pa ko matuloy tuloy mag apply..

if you want to cross border, let's say from NY to canada, you still need to apply a canadian tourist visa from here (country of origin). yun ang pagkakaalam ko. hindi yata pwde yung mag-cross ng border ng walang visa for that country.

so mga sis, kelangan talaga...kuha muna ko visa dito bago ko makakuha ng transit visa dun?  medyo na confuse ako...so hinde pede mag cross ng transit visa lang from ny?

^You have to have a valid US tourist visa to be able to cross the border from Canada. Sa pagkaka alam ko, transit visa is issued when you are traveling and need a short stop over in another country.

me too, i have questions: (1) is it true that you have to travel outside the country at least once para matatakan yung passport mo?  parang it will prove na you'll be there for vacation lang talaga.  (2) i hope hindi bawal banggitin ito dito, pero does 'show money' really works in getting a visa?

eto yung mga nasabi sa akin ng mga friends ko if and when getting visa for some other countries.  baka it will work din daw sa Canada. 

any thoughts on this?

1. well, that's a tricky question. siguro added points kung nakapag-travel abroad ka na but i don't think its a requirement.

2. you have to prove to them that you can finance your trip. but more so, kelangan mong ma-prove that you will go home once the visa expires or before it expires. that's more important to them. that's why they are asking for assets (home, car), savings account and employment letter para masigurado nila na may babalikan ka pa sa pinas. you have to convince them that you have no plans of staying here longer than what is given to you.
