has anyone here been issued a tourist visa while having a pending immigrant visa application at the same time?

Buti na lang nakita ko tong thread na to.. ang tagal ko ng nangungulit dun sa canada thread sa overseas. Apparently halos lahat dun mga immigrant ang status or skilled worker.
Anyway, I want to know sana what should be the content of the invitation letter from my friend.  Ako naman mag support sa trip ko I just need a place to stay while in canada.  And aside from invitation letter ano pa kailangan ko hingin sa kanya?
Please give me an idea naman. Thanks!

this gives me hope. i thought it was like getting a US tourist visa wherein having a pending immigrant petition will make it harder for you to be given a tourist visa.

sis, were you asked regarding your immigrant visa application during your tourist visa interview or was it asked in any of the documents required for submission? do you have an FSW application or a family petition pending?

^sis, my word of advise, don't buy a plane ticket without a visa issued to you yet. You can always go to a travel agency and have your itinerary booked with them. Then, they can just issue you a copy of your confirmed booking itinerary. You can use this to submit as reqts in lieu of an actual paid plane ticket.

as far as i know sis, there are several kinds of immigrant visa application.

one of which is a family petition (meaning, a family member petitioned you to become an immigrant) - and the other one is a Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) immigrant application (meaning, you applied as an immigrant based on a specialized skill you possess  such as being a nurse, accountant, etc.).

so, what kind of immigrant visa application do you have?

^same question, ano ba ang laman ng letter of invitation and required ba talaga ito? pano kung wala kang kakilala sa canada?

^letter of invitation might help but it is not a requirement...

if you will be supporting your own trip then you can do without the letter of invitation... you just need to prove that you have enough funds and you will come back to the Philippines...

as for letter of invitation, your friend just needs to state why he/she is inviting you over and that you are to stay with them for the entire duration of your stay...

sis ininvite ko ang parents ko, wala na silang interview nakakuha sila ng 1 yr multiple entry visa. Anyway, content lang ng letter ko was basically my name, yung name ng person na iniinvite ko, kung san sila nakatira, kung san ako nakatira, and yung reason.  Well yung sa akin, di ako nag state ng reason kasi wala naman talaga reason, sabi ko lang I'm inviting then to visit me here and ako yugn magshoulder ng expenses nila plus yung gastusin while andito sila. that's all. Then yung letter pina-notarized ko sha, although i don't think it's necessary, still ginawa ko pa din. Then sinama ko yung copy ng passport namin magasawa, plus yung copy ng municipal taxes namin, just to state na may bahay kami dito and stable na kami. Yung sa municipal tax, actually tip sa akin yun ng taga munisipyo, free lang naman yun so why not?!. Then sinama ko din yung copy ng pay slips namin magasawa just to show na may work kami and kaya namin i- support yung trip nila. Tapos Kung titingnan mo yung www.manila.gc.ca, meron sila list don kung ano dapat yung content ng letter mo. So susundin mo lang yun. Pwede naman mas simple, kasi dami ako naririnig na super simple lang ang letter yet nakakakuha naman sila ng visa agad, but in my experience ganon ginawa ko. hope it helps...

mga sis if ever ba ma pass ko na yung application for visa diba through courier nalang and then wala ng interview? Meaning to say I'll just have to wait for the confirmation whether na grant yung visa or hindi..Wala ng personal apperance? or would you recommend na sa travel agency ko na lang pa process?

^yes, through courier lang... no interviews... but you have to be sure that you submitted all necessary documents.. i think you have to wait for 2 wks then the courier returns your documents to you again... that's when you'll find out if you're approved or not..
i did the application by myself... no need for travel agency... additional cost... but if you feel more confident if a travel agency handles it for you then go for one..

Hi mga sis,

Share ko lang i recently apply for canada visa single entry, since I'm going to US for a month attending my sister wedding there.  I had a multiple visa to US and used it couple of times na rin.  I planned to visit my cousin in Canada and also to have a tour in niagara falls, so I apply for Canada visa. 

Appararently, I was denied. hehe buti na lang single entry lang apply ko, for the reason that I didn't meet the requirement and document presented..blah blah d ko daw naconvince yun officer.  Lesson learned kahit may multiple visa sa US and even you been there many times, do not pressume it would be easy to get Canada visa.  US and Canada are still different countries.

I still prefer interview instead of document presentation, kc pag d maganda ang presentation chances are you can't get one.  And also you can't depend your side...they think you'll stay there forever which is hindi naman kc maayos naman buhay mo [textspeak!].  Mistake ko siguro is I didn't have outstanding bank statement which is 100K and also add more proof that you have stable job not only employment certificate....and baka rin siguro meron ako FSW immigrant petition.  I think so, kya advise ko gandahan ang presentation ng document, minadali ko kc yun akin kc baka abutan ako nun alis d pa dumating yun passport ko from embassy.

Hay naku...'tong Canada talaga ayaw ako iapprove hehe. Twice na ko denied. Pahamak sa lovelife ko talaga. Now I just got my US visa...Im not sure lang kung mapprove ako next time I apply. Hopefully!
