^yes, through courier lang... no interviews... but you have to be sure that you submitted all necessary documents.. i think you have to wait for 2 wks then the courier returns your documents to you again... that's when you'll find out if you're approved or not..
i did the application by myself... no need for travel agency... additional cost... but if you feel more confident if a travel agency handles it for you then go for one..

plan to go to canada on summer 2010.  when is the best time to apply? what is the shortest expiry na binibigay nila? 1 month? 3 months? thanks.

i hope someone can help me.. my bf is canada.. plan A is uuwi siya next year and we'll get married here. plan B is aapply ako for a tourist visa, para magkita kame. the thing is I'm afraid na madeny kase they might think na we might get married there. meron ba dito na may fiance na nasa canada rin and applied for a tourist visa?

me too, i have questions: (1) is it true that you have to travel outside the country at least once para matatakan yung passport mo?  parang it will prove na you'll be there for vacation lang talaga.  (2) i hope hindi bawal banggitin ito dito, pero does 'show money' really works in getting a visa?

eto yung mga nasabi sa akin ng mga friends ko if and when getting visa for some other countries.  baka it will work din daw sa Canada. 

any thoughts on this?

(1) you use your passport when you leave the country, they stamp your passport everytime you get in and out, but it doesn't prove that you'll be there for vacation only

(2) you need to prove that you are capable of paying for your trip... they consider that before issuing you a visa

so im guessing it isn't a plus factor if your notes are from your parents, eh?... i have bank notes from my dad and he tells me na i only have to tell the consul na my folks gifted me that sum. kaso i keep insisting na the embassy peeps (US man or Canada) will not consider that as a qualifying factor for me to come back to the philippines.  tama ako diba?

that is very true..when I tried to apply a TRV one of the supporting docs was my father's bank certificate (which is at the states) and another from here sa pinas. I had my own bank certificate, I just used my father's para sure na meron talaga akong pang gastos, but still I got denied. Money is not the only factor.

If your at the working age (any age after college graduation until 40) it's more difficult. You really have to have A LOT of supporting docs. If possible, everything they are requiring.

When I applied I had a stable job (but it wasn't related to my degree) and I had my son and husband that was goin to stay here. I had enough money. And invitations from Canada. But still it wasn't enough.

But there's no harm in trying. Just an advice, have a lot of supporting documents.

Docs? As much as possible almost everything on their list, but still that doesn't give anyone any assurance that they'll be given a visa. Family assets may help, but more helpful kung sayo mismo nakapangalan [textspeak!] asset na [textspeak!], kasi if it's named under your parents or another family member, parang alinlangan parin. Kasi if it's not yours naman talaga, it's much more easy to leave, diba?

Pero with regards dun sa job mo, wala yan sa sweldo. If you've been there for a long time, have an approved leave, and is in-line with your degree, I think malaking factor un na bigyan ka. Especially if you have a contract. Much better to add that.

Well that's just my opinion.

I'll be trying to reapply again this coming end of March or 1st week of April. I'll be adding other docs, and hopefully and luckily sana (Please lang Bro) maapprove.

actually wala..as long na complete mo na yung documents mo and may bago ka na documents na papakita pwede ka na magapply ulit..

if ever ma-deny,gaano katagal ang dapat mong intayin para makapg-apply ka ulit?thanks po!!

i was refused before kase kulang sa documents kahit may us visa ako pero nabigyan din ako siguro nagapply kase ko christmas season

major na hinahanap nila dito eh yung "close family ties" here sa philippines or kailangan niyo iprove na babalik kayo sa pinas un lang talaga tinitignan nila..(mas ok kung may work, asset etc)
regarding sa fund sabi nila 300k above dapat pero yung akin 40k lang laman ng bank book ko plus yung time deposit ko na hindi naman ganun kalaki..next naging plus din siguro yung pag alis ko sa asia kase dun makikita nila bumabalik ka nga talaga sa pinas and may fund ka para makapagtravel..kase titignan din nila yung travel history..

nung nagapply ako super onti lang yung documents ko pero nagpass ako ng photo wala kase ko maisip para maprove ko yung colse family ties ko dito eh haha kaya yun na lang

tapos depende pa din sa consul na titingin ng application..may mga consul na mabait may hindi

@rosey : if ever mag apply ka ng TRV wag mo sabihin na pupuntahan mo yung boyfriend mo madalas kase yun pa yung hindi nabibigyan ng visa..(iisipin nila hindi ka na babalik) pero pwede mo naman sabihin para honest ka pero make sure na maprove mo na babalik ka talaga ng pinas kase kahit ako may bf ako sa canada

May I just ask, what kind of photo did you include sa application mo?

^ basta kasama ko mom/dad/me mostly yung mga pic na nagtravel kame local/interational. may kuya ko pero hindi ko sinama kase may family na sya eh.

depende yata sa mood ng consul eh. yung officemate ko wala naman masyadong inattach na documents pero nabigyan naman sya ng visa. samantalang yung milyonaryo dito sa amin denied naman.

Ano yung maximum length of stay na binibigay ng tourist visa? I want to apply multiple entry, pero kung 6 months lang, not worth it.

I want to visit the country pero if everytime I visit, mag-aapply ako ng visa, parang I don't care much na of applying .
