^ i have the same question. kasi since it only costs 20k (give or take a few) good buy sana siya for a student. pero is it worth it? plano ko kasi to use it for school projects and internet surfing lang. for files naman mostly songs lang and microsoft word/powerpoint documents ang iso-store ko since i can upload pictures naman online. help please! feedback is much appreciated! *smile*

For somebody who's always on the go and needs to lug a laptop everytime, the eee pc is just the perfect companion. Im a road warrior myself, I have a 10"LCD toshiba laptop but the weight still becomes an issue if I have to consider the other stuffs I throw inside my bag (PDA, phone, camera, cosmetic bag, purse etc).

At barely 1kg, it is surely a relief for one's back and shoulder apart from the benefit of accessing your files real quickly bec of its very fast boot-up time, that is if you're using the stock operating system, Xandros. The only restriction that I can see from it is the limited storage capacity, but can be easily resolved with the plummeting prices of flash drives these days. Secondly, the small screen size can be a nuisance for those visually-challenged so definitely not for peeps age 40 years and above, hehe! The ones who depend on reading glasses that is.

^^ yup, matibay naman ang asus laptop. i have my asus a8fm and oks naman. hanggang ngayun, hindi pa nasisira or narerepair and walang part na needs replacement. plan ko bumili ng 1 pa, yung f8sr naman.

may friend ako dati na nag-ojt sa toshiba a few years back. nagstress testing sila ng different laptops and ang pinakamatibay daw talaga is asus, ibm and fujitsu. ikaw daw ang susuko. hehe.

^wala sis, you just take advantage of the 3 USB ports on it for flash drives and external optical drives.

^ yes but you can install windows XP on it or run it from a flash disk/ drive. So you have best of both worlds so to speak, run either Linux w/c is the default and alternatively, XP.

nakakakita nga ako ng laptop na xxxk plus lang yung maliit na laptop ang cute. plano ko nga bilan yung son ko para di na kami nag agawan sa computer. kaso baka madali lang siya masira.

A8J ko sira  na   pati  board at  hinges..  lang  silbi .. tagal pa  ibaling ng tech department.  palaring  nalan  parating na raw ang parts  3 mos na sa  reir  underwarranty.. wag na  kayo  bumili.. asus.  badtrip.

i have an eee-pc.. got the 2G only (xxxk)
mabilis pang surf, emails and pang type lang.. its nice also kase magaan.. tinuruan din ako nun sa binilihan ko (compex), to buy flashdisk na lang for the eeepc.. i'm happy with it

my hubby is waiting for the new eeepc.. 16G yata and XP ang OS, this june yata ang release nya sa market
