^first advice is to find out what language you want to learn.  dapat passionate ka talaga na matutunan yun kasi kung hindi, you can study it now, but you'll only forget it eventually.  sayang lang.   try defining what foreign language interests you the most.  you can try nihongo if you like animes and jdoramas.  korean if you like korean dramas and movies. spanish if you often watch their films or their series.  after that,  look for a teacher or a school.  the thread gives a lot of suggestions on places that teaches different languages.  backtrack ka lang and you'll find something useful.  after you do that, then the rest is dedication.   have fun!

for spanish id recommend instituto, i go there

^ my brother is an instructor at alliance but am not really interested with french. ive always wanted to get into instituto but the problem is baka kulang ang funds ko para maka enroll. mga how much ba dun? tsaka ilang months or semester ang dapat mo macomplete para maging fluent ka na talaga in spanish?

mura lang sis, only 2,500 something for the beginner course.. its just 2 weeks... and the book is 1,500 which ur gonna use until level 4.. fluency would really depend.. id love to finish the curse if only they arent located in such a depressed area, nakakatakot tuloy lumabas sometimes

Ako rin, gusto ko matuto ng foreign language. Since naka-LOA ako from school, may time talaga ako. I'm torn between Japanese and French kasi I want to take up my masters in either Japan or Canada. Ano ba mas madaling pag-aralan?

sis the lessons are not taught by topics per se. Each unit has a theme and incorporates grammar, conversation, and culture in each lesson.

super agree ako dito. Experience ko kasi, excited ako mag aral mandarin, so my mom enrolled me. Nung na bored na ako, hindi na ako pumapasok..sayang pera

yeah, you've got to be passionate! im studying japanese right now, i studied german before. they really do come in handy. goal ko is to be conversant in 7 languages. hehe

uhm, goethe in makati? haha. well, alam ko universities are offering lessons too pag kunwari weekends or what. sa UP diliman meron kasi. i studied there, actually parang [textspeak!] methods ng goethe rin ang gamit nila.
