^ with alliance being the premier french school in the country, alliance lessons are worth every peso. mura lang naman e, tapos well-trained ang teachers, maganda ang facility. it's your best bet for french language learning here

^ berlitz sis.   it's right in front of mandarin oriental hotel.  i'm taking mandarin classes there right now.  effective yung method nila.  masaya pa yung class.

yeah, i know ateneo school in makati is offering mandarin class, enrollment for april classes is until end of march only.. call them for more info..

i have been studying french for 2 years na. The key to being fluent is really to practice speaking it even if you take these courses tapos di mo napapractice yung language sayang din. I suggest especially for those studying beginner's level, the UP European Languages department's extramural classes is so worth it. Cheaper than Alliance and they follow the same modules. 24 hours of french class for P2000 (I dunno if it increased recently, I studied there last year). In Alliance the cheapest rate (24 hr class din) would be P3300. I improved my accent (with the help of my teacher there) so much that my French friend said I have a good French accent already. I just have to practice more on vocabulary building.

i don't know with anyone else, pero sa lahat ng nakita ko, parang pinaka-effective ang lonely planet phrasebooks (i think it's sold exclusively at powerbooks) for any language.  they have in them phrases you'll actually use.  and they're very easy to study.

living language. you can either purchase the book alone, or the one with the cds. you can make a special request for this at powerbooks. i got my german book+cds for about P2000. i can't recall when was this, exactly.

ang alam ko lang ay nihongo center. for the regular elementary course, it is around P8000, includes book + handouts. this covers reading, writing and speaking. there are also some courses like business japanese, translation, teacher training, tourism and hotel nihongo, conversational nihongo.

i'm looking for a school nga din, sana if ever, better kung may kasama para may practice lagi.
i've surfed the net na, meron ang UP at Ateneo, i've emailed UP kasi yun ang sa tingin ko mura hehe... i'm yet to receive their response pa kung how much and how to go about the enrollement process. i'll let you gals know as soon as i get it!
