Every woman in her 30s should be able to confidently dress in her personal style.
Not quite sure about what yours is yet? Allow us to help.
In a PEP.ph interview with Kimi Yap, one of the Yap sisters who style Kathryn Bernardo, Erich Gonzales, and Kris Aquino, the glamour girl gave tips on the fashion sensibilities to adapt when we reach the big 3-0:
Stick to what looks good on you
Kimi pointed out it's important that we “know [our] body frame.”
Not all clothes are designed to fit all shapes and sizes. One blouse may look good on one and ill-fitting on another.
She underlined, “Huwag ka lang bibili ng clothes na [just] because it’s trendy.
“Know your body frame, know your style.”
Wear those heels
A must for Kimi, “Always wear heels.
“Parang everywhere you go, kunwari hindi ka masyadong sure, nakaka-add talaga kapag naka-heels ka.
“Nakaka-add sa confidence, nakaka-add sa posture, tapos mukhang bihis.”
Invest in the basics
For Kimi, the trick to looking good is in making sure that each piece is well-thought-out.
“For me, ang kailangan for 30 years old, mas clean, mas structured yung mga pieces.”
It would be best to fill your closet with good-fitting blazers, wide-legged pants, pencil cut skirts, and nice-looking tops.
“Feeling ko kasi kahit naka-nice top ka lang, tapos kahit naka-jeans ka na tattered, maganda pa rin.”
Choose what's comfortable over something trendy
At the end of the day, comfort is still the absolute rule in fashion.
Kimi underlined, “What you’re comfortable in, confident ka rin… Kung saan feeling mo gaganda ka, do’n ka.
“Ang fashion, iba’t iba naman yun. Interpretation mo yun. Style mo iyan.
“Iba’t ibat nga yung take mo sa fashion. Puwede hindi mo gusto, pero gusto ng iba.
“Ayoko magsabi ng no-no, kasi hindi mo naman masasabi.”
