We're all familiar with the chaos of dressing up in the morning. More often than not, this process takes so much of our routine. Avoid the AM mayhem by following our time-saving tips below.

1. Organize your closet.

When your space is neat and tidy, you can easily spot your clothing inventory, and put together outfits without difficulty. Separate your clothes by type: skirts, pants, tops, jackets, dresses. Arrange them by color, from lightest to darkest—the way stores do. Following the same logic allows you choose pieces fast.

2. Prepare your outfit the night before.
Laying your pick out the night before is a proven time-saver. All you need to do in the morning it to get up, clean up, and slip on your pre-chosen outfit.

3. Stock up on dresses.

Save time mixing and matching your separates by putting on a pretty dress.

4. Have a trusty pair of shoes that works with everything.
While owning many pairs of shoes is fun, having a pair of classic pumps or heels in a neutral hue that looks good with any type of outfit shaves minutes off your prep time.

5. Invest in timeless pieces.
When you've got a solid wardobe foundation filled with closet staples, getting dressed is a piece of cake. Take, for example, a white button-down, grey trousers, and black D'Orsay pumps—all are classics and provide instant polish.
