1. Am I buying this because it's on sale?
If you're buying a new dress that's not your style because you want to explore the different looks you can rock, then go right ahead! But if you're purchasing something that's not your look just because it's half of its original price, put down the dress and slowly walk out of the store.
2. Does it fit my body well?
Don't spend on clothes that don't fit your body unless it can be easily altered to fit you better.
3. Will it match any of your clothes at home?
Chances are if none of your old clothes match your new purchase, you'll end up spending more to create a chic outfit. To maximize your new buy, make sure that it matches at least three of your old clothes at home.
4. Am I buying this because of the brand?
It's definitely okay to have a preference, but if you're limiting yourself to a specific brand solely because of its name, is it really worth it? When shopping, make sure that you're buying the item because you truly love it and not just because you can hashtag the name on Instagram.
5. Do I feel comfortable wearing this?
At the end of the day, don't buy anything that you don't feel comfortable wearing. Even if your bestie thinks that the top you tried on makes you glow, if you don't feel comfortable in it, don't buy it.
