Getting a Brazilian wax is an intimate experience: You're naked from the waist down, and you have to trust a stranger to pull out e-v-e-r-y single hair from your vajayjay. It sounds painful because it really is.

While there are no tricks invented yet that will make a Brazilian wax painless, it's comforting to know that its pain level depends on your tolerance, the kind of wax used, and the attendant's technique. To prove our point, we went ahead and tried five salons to see whose service was the most pleasant and cost-efficient.


Lay Bare Brazilian Wax

Experience: Their wax was at room temperature so there was no "shock" factor once it was applied. The hair removal process was also tolerable because they pulled the hair out in smaller sections. For the price of the service, we're definitely going back here!

Waxbar Brazilian Wax

Price: P530

Location: 2F 39 Malingap St., Teachers Village, Quezon City

Experience: We loved how each room looked very clean and high-end. As for the session itself, it was the fastest we've ever had20 minutes. So if you're a busy girl who lives up in the North, head to this place whenever you need a quick tidying up down there!

Experience: Three things stood out to us while getting a Brazilian wax at Strip: One, the chocolate-scented wax smelled delicious; two, their technicians were so profesh that we felt comfortable the entire time; and three, the whole process was over in 30 minutes. This is a great place to go to if you want to *splurge*.
