healthy diet and a good skincare routine aren't the only secrets to looking your best in your prime. Your hair has a major role to play as well, and all you have to do is take advantage of it! Below, celebrity hairstylists Mark Rosales and Mycke Arcano share their tips to achieving youthful-looking hair:

1. Instead of copper and orangey colors, dye your hair darker or get highlights.

According to Mark, copper-toned hair colors tend to make the hair look greasy and not well-maintained. On the other hand, shades like chocolate brown and mocha do the opposite and make it appear healthier.

Mycke also recommends getting ash highlights to give your tresses more dimension, but if it's a full hair overhaul you need, he says you can never go wrong with going jet black.

2. You can also experiment with a vibrant hair color.

Being adventurous with your 'do alone can take years off of you, so why not try a hair color you've never tried before? Mark recommends hues such as rose gold, electric blue, and silver to make a statement.

3. Go shorter.

"Super long hair [has] no volume," says Mark. His advice? Cut your locks shorter, preferably to a shoulder-length like a long bob or a bob. Bangs are also a great option, depening on your face shape.

4. Treat your hair often.

Like healthy skin, healthy hair looks overall younger, so visit your salon often for treatments "[Treatments] help your blood circulation through your scalp, which also manifests [on] your skin so you look glowing," Mark Rosales explains.

5. Style your hair down.

According to Mycke, letting your hair down in loose waves gives off a more youthful and effortless vibe compared to an overly-polished updo. Besides, if you have a great haircut, you should show it off!

6. Avoid tight buns.

Tight buns have the tendency to appear quite dated, says Mycke, so it's best to avoid them. Instead, he advises a side-parted low ponytail or a messy top knot for when you're heading to a special event.

7. Don't be afraid to accessorize.

Who says hair accessories are only for kids? Barrettes, ribbons, headbands, and hair clips are a huge beauty trend right now, and everyone can pull them off no matter their age.
