1We may be used to shampooing our locks before we apply conditioner, but in an article from Refinery29, Nina Dimachki, artistic director for Kérastase, claims that we should actually be conditioning our strands before we lather up in shampoo. Dimachki says that using conditioner prior to shampoo nourishes fine hair without weighing it down. "It also promotes a longer lasting blow-dry and primes the hair before cleansing, allowing shampoo to distribute easier and more evenly."

The process: Massage conditioner on your scalp down to the ends to scrub and nourish the follicles from root to tips. "You will be cleansing it after, so your hair won't be weighed down or oily," Dimachki clarifies.

Besides those with thin hair, the hair expert also suggests that ladies with highlighted tresses should try the said technique to avoid tangles after washing minimize greasiness post-shampoo. She also recommends for women with thick coarse hair to follow the conditioner-shampoo-conditioner method.
