The skin on our lips is thin and sensitive, which is why it dries out quicker than the rest of our body. When traveling to a colder country, you'll need to carry around a lip balm that does more than moisturize—one that heals dry lips, not just give them temporary hydration. Here are the best ones we've tried, including picks that have had rave reviews online:

1. Vaseline Lip Therapy

P99, Watsons

If you swear by using petroleum jelly, this stick form is just as good and a lot easier to apply, especially when you're traveling. Formulated with petroleum jelly and vitamin E, Vaseline's lip balm effectively softens chapped lips.

2. Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment

P1,387, available on Sephora.ph

This lip balm lands on the pricey side, but for a sulit reason: it's a deep-conditioning lip treatment. It’s not the kind that temporarily keeps your lips moisturized but ends up feeling crusty after an hour or so. It leaves a nice, subtle tint, so the cold weather won't leave you looking pale in photos!

3. Lucas Papaw Ointment

P599/25g, Watsons

Lugging around this popular multi-purpose balm will come in handy when exploring a foreign country. Apart from keeping your lips moisturized (fermented papaya is its main healing ingredient!), it can prevent blisters, treat sunburn and minor burns, and even relieve mosquito bites.

4. Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask

P570, available on Althea

This overnight lip treatment contains hyaluronic acid and Berry Mix Complex to melt away the dead skin cells on your lips. It has a thick but non-sticky consistency. You can apply it right before you go to bed (apply a generous amount for best results!) so you won't have to keep reapplying your lip balm the next day—you can also apply it before you swipe on your lipstick!

5. Aquaphor Advanced Therapy Healing Ointment Skin Protectant

P999/7oz

This thick clear ointment can basically heal any dry areas of your skin, from lips to elbows. It's that hydrating. It's also formulated in the U.S. with the colder months in mind, so you can rely on this ointment to keep your puckers from getting flaky on your trip.
