While you're in between laser hair removal sessions, don't pluck as this method makes your hair grow back thinner. Dr. Vicki Belo recommends shaving because it leaves the fat follicle intact, making it easier for the laser to "find" it. (Here's how to properly do it to do avoid ingrown hair.)

On the other hand, if you don't have any plans to try laser hair removal, tweezing is the best way to remove unwanted hair. "The reason I like plucking is that it doesn't cause pigmentation or micro-wounding. It's also the cleanest way, because the more you do it, the hair will get finer and finer," Dr. Vicki explains.
