Thanks to our favorite new royal Meghan Markle, and local celebs like the It Girls, it appears faux freckles have made a strong comeback in 2018, this time with better technology and technique behind it.
So if you're looking for a subtle way to switch up your look, it's time to schedule a consultation with permanent makeup artist Niña Defensor of Cosmetic Tattoos PH. (Don't let the word 'tattoo' intimidate you, as she's an advocate of the "no tattoo-tattoo look" and prefers her work to look "as natural as can be."
The procedure costs P10,000, and will last anywhere from six months to a year.
According to Niña, immediately after the procedure, the color intensity will be significantly sharper and darker; but any redness will subside in one to two hours and faux freckles become 30 percent lighter after it's fully healed.
How to prepare your skin for faux freckles
Two weeks before your visit, do not use Retin-A skincare products close to the enhancement area. You also need to make sure not to take aspirin or Ibuprofen two days prior.
On the day itself, avoid making social plans, and simply wear your normal makeup to your appointment.
Once scheduled, the procedure will be done at Kapwa Studio, 5059A P. Burgos St. Poblacion, Makati.
"Whether it is brows, nails or hair, it is still part of your journey to self-love and self-care. Feeling good is the key to looking good, and looking good is the key to feeling good," writes Niña.
