Planning to change your look this beach season? What are the top tress trends that we should look forward to this summer? If these questions have been haunting you for days, don't fret! We were lucky to snag a couple of minutes with Japanese hairstylist Akira at the SYOSS Media Launch, who gamely shared with FN a couple of tips on this year's hottest hair trends for summer.

So what's the ultimate beach look for 2013? "Recently, the trend has gone back to straight hair," Akira shares. "For Filipina hair, straight and layered hairstyles really look well," he adds. However, that doesn't mean we have to say goodbye to wavy beach curls that we absolutely adore, as he has assured us that "wavy curls are still in."

Thinking of going for a different hair color? "Ash is a hot trend for hair color this summer season," Akira advises. If you want to change your look but still want to play safe, go for ash brown, as Allure.com reveals that it's universally flattering.
