Whether you’re planning on doing your own makeup for your big day or aiming for something that doesn’t look too "done," this simple brown smoky eye and blushing cheek combo is a look that’s universally flattering and oh-so-simple to achieve.

Gather your tools around and let’s get started with this tutorial!

STEP 1: BASE

Starting at the center of the face, apply foundation. Double up on areas where you need a little more coverage like the sides of your mouth and nose, under the eyes, and chin.

STEP 2: HIGHLIGHTER

For a natural-looking glow (that doesn’t translate as oily), dab on some highlighter onto the high points of your cheeks.

STEP 3: BLUSH

Look every bit the blushing bride after you add a natural flush onto the apples of your cheeks.

STEP 4: EYESHADOW

Sweep pink eyeshadow across the lids, and contour your eyes with a matte, brown shadow. Make sure the color is most concentrated at the lash line and blend upwards for a slightly smoky effect.

STEP 5: MASCARA

Using a waterproof mascara is a MUST for your big day. Apply it using wiggling motions so you get to coat each strand.

STEP 6: SET

After swiping on your favorite lipstick, it's time to lock in all your hard work. Setting spray is one of the surefire ways to prevent a makeup meltdown. Spray a fine mist onto your face (never spray directly!) for some all-day longevity.
