Apart from the facials you treat your skin to every month, there are pressing moments when you need to see your dermatologist. Your skin is the largest organ of your body, so taking care of it reflects your overall health. We fill you in on those certain occassions:

1. You get a rash after starting a new treatment or medication.
Some allergic reactions may be life-threatening. If you find yourself seeing a bad case of rashes, and you remember taking in new meds within the last three days, it's high time you show it to your derma!

2. Your acne worsens or it never goes away.
When you've got a zit living on your face for weeks, it's best to have it dealt by a dermatologist instead of relying on over-the-counter medication. It probably needs more attention — self-medicating may worsen it or lead to permanent scars.

3. You spot a mole that changes in color in size.
Be alarmed when you notice your mole change its appearance. This may be a sign of melanoma or skin cancer, and it can be fatal. Your dermatologist can double-check if the mole isn't cancerous. It's better to be safe and paranoid than sorry.
