Winning is a great feeling, and it's definitely something kids want to experience. Losing, on the other hand, is never easy. It may even dampen their spirit. Though beating an opponent elevates their self-esteem, children should also learn that they can’t win all the time. Of course, children are most likely to enjoy the game if they succeed. It’s okay to let them win--sometimes. Otherwise, they may have a tough time when they start playing games with friends.

Risk-taking, concentration, and planning are some of the important lessons we teach kids through simple games. And these lessons are learned not only when they win, but also when they lose. Here are some ways you can impart these lessons regardless of the outcome of a game.
